Kevin Fagan (cartoonist)
Kevin Fagan (born June 22, 1956) is an American cartoonist and creator of the syndicated comic strip ''Drabble''. Fagan was born in Los Angeles. He attended Saddleback College, and later transferred to California State University, Sacramento as a history major. While there, he submitted his work to the student newspaper, the ''State Hornet''. Shortly afterwards, he was discovered by ''The Sacramento Union'', and was subsequently offered a syndication contract by United Media's United Feature Syndicate United Feature Syndicate (UFS) is a large American editorial column and comic strip newspaper syndication service based in the United States and established in 1919. Originally part of E. W. Scripps Company, it was part of United Media (along ..., and he dropped out of CSUS in 1978, just 3 units short of his degree, to take up cartooning full-time. United Media was a large editorial column and comic strip newspaper syndication service based in the United States, owned by the E. W. Scripps Company, that operated from 1978 to 2011. It syndicated 150 comics and editorial columns worldwide. Its core businesses were the United Feature Syndicate and the Newspaper Enterprise Association. History E. W. Scripps started his newspaper career in the 1885, and owned 22 newspapers by 1910. In 1897, he created two companies, the Scripps-McRae Press Association and the Scripps News Association. In 1907, he combined a number of news providers into United Press Associations as a rival to Associated Press. On June 2, 1902, the new Newspaper Enterprise Association (NEA), based in Cleveland, Ohio, started as a news report service for different Scripps-owned newspapers.
