Kevin DeWalt (born 1959) is a Canadian film and television producer based in Regina, Saskatchewan. He is the former president of the International Quorum of Motion Picture Producers and the past Chairman of the Canadian Film and Television Production Association. DeWalt has produced over 60 films and television shows such as ''A Score to Settle'', ''The Englishman's Boy'', '' Forsaken'' and '' The Tall Man''. The Gemini Awards were awards given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television between 1986–2011 to recognize the achievements of Canada's television industry. The Gemini Awards are analogous to the Emmy Awards given in the United States and the BAFTA Television Awards in the United Kingdom. Genie Awards
The Genie Awards were given out annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to recognize the best of Canadian cinema from 1980–2012. They succeeded the Canadian Film Awards (1949–1978; also known as the "Etrog Awards," for sculptor Sorel Etrog, who designed the statuette). Genie Award candidates were selected from submissions made by the owners of Canadian films or their representatives, based on the criteria laid out in the ''Genie Rules and Regulations'' booklet which is distributed to Academy members and industry members.
