Kevin Breit
Kevin Breit is a Canadian musician from Northern Canada. Breit has collaborated in numerous bands, and recorded solo albums on his own Poverty Playlist label, and Stony Plain Records. He is also well known for session work on numerous Grammy award winning albums by a wide range of artists including Cassandra Wilson and Norah Jones . Projects Kevin Breit is the leader of the quartet Sisters Euclid, comprising Breit, Ian DeSouza, Gary Taylor and Mark Lalama. Sisters Euclid formed in 1996, and have earned Juno and National Jazz Awards. In 2006, they released an instrumental jazz fusion album of Neil Young songs entitled ''Run Neil Run''. Kevin and Cyro Baptista formed Supergenerous in 1998 and were signed to Blue Note Records.They recorded two records together. Breit is a member of The Stretch Orchestra with fellow "quite tall" musicians Matt Brubeck and drummer Jesse Stewart. Their self titled recording won a Juno Award in 2012 for Best Instrumental Album. Baldwin, Ontario
Baldwin ( 2016 population 620) is a township in the Canadian province of Ontario. Located in Sudbury District north of Espanola, the township's two main communities and population centres are McKerrow and Lorne. The junction of Ontario Highway 17 and Ontario Highway 6 is in Baldwin, just west of McKerrow. An old abandoned fire tower still stands north of McKerrow on Agnew Lake. The township is part of the federal riding of Algoma—Manitoulin—Kapuskasing (MP Carol Hughes) and the provincial riding of Algoma—Manitoulin (MPP Michael Mantha). History The township of Baldwin was surveyed in 1871 and subdivided in 1885, and was named after F. A. Baldwin. Cyro Baptista
Cyro Baptista (born December 23, 1950) is a Brazilian percussionist in jazz and world music. He creates many of the percussion instruments he plays. Career Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Baptista arrived in the U.S. in 1980 with a scholarship to Creative Music Studio in Woodstock, New York. During the 1980s, he worked on films with John Zorn and appeared on Zorn's albums in the 1990s. Also in the '90s, he appeared on albums by Marisa Monte, Holly Cole, and Cassandra Wilson. In 1997 he released his first solo album, ''Vira Loucos'', with cover versions of music by Heitor Villa-Lobos. The album was recorded with Marc Ribot and Nana Vasconcelos and released by Avant, a label owned by Zorn. He was a member of Zorn's band Dreamers. He recorded with pianist Herbie Hancock on his album ''Possibilities''. He recorded and performed worldwide with Hancock's Grammy award-winning ''Gershwin's World''.
