Ketnet Band
Ketnet is a Dutch-language public children's television channel in Belgium owned and operated by the VRT, Flemish public broadcaster. It broadcasts a mix of locally produced and imported productions on the VRT3 channel from 6am until 8pm. On 1 December 1997, BRTN 2 was replaced by Canvas and Ketnet. On 1 May 2012, Ketnet has been moved on a new channel, timesharing with Op 12. Op 12 closed on 31 December 2014. The preschool programmes are broadcast on Ketnet Junior between 10am to 7pm on Canvas. Its French-language counterpart is Ouftivi on La Trois. Presenters As with VRT's main television station één, Ketnet employs in-vision continuity announcers. In the case of Ketnet, the announcers also present various programmes for the station and are known as ''Ketnetwrappers''. ''6teen'' (originally titled ''The Mall'') is a Canadian animated comedy television series originally produced by Nelvana, with the final two seasons being produced by Fresh TV. It began airing on November 7, 2004 until its final episode aired on February 11, 2010 on Teletoon. In the U.S., the series was first aired on Nickelodeon on December 18, 2005, and was removed from the schedule on May 13, 2006. The show was later aired on Cartoon Network (along with ''Total Drama Island and Stoked)'' on October 23, 2008 until June 21, 2010. ''Tip en Tap'' is a Belgian animated television series created by Ray Goossens and produced by the Belgische Radio en Televisie (BRT) in 1969. There were 26 episodes. The series featured two puppies who used to get into some kind of mischief in each episode, but who were always saved by their uncle (a flying adult dog) at the last second. At the end, their uncle would bring them back home to their beds and tuck them in under the sheets. ''Spring'' was a Flemish television soap made by Studio 100 for children's channel Ketnet. Six seasons were taped between 2002 and 2007 during the summer period. Storylines Season 1 *Spring is a dance school run by Maggy Lejeune. She teaches a group of girls including Katrijn Van Asten, Evi De Bie and newcomer Chantal Goegebuer. ''Samson & Gert'' is a Flemish children's television series produced by Eline van Noppen, centered on the talking dog Samson and his owner Gert. In its entire run, the show was originally aired on TV1 from Christmas Day 1989 until 1 December 1997, where it moved to Ketnet and continues airing all of its episodes to this day. History Originally Gert Verhulst was a continuity announcer. He wanted to make the announcements before children's television programmes more appealing by having an animal puppet next to him. He got in touch with puppeteer Danny Verbiest, who created the puppet dog Samson. Samson, a Bearded Collie, made his screen debut in the Christmas period of 1989. Piet Piraat
Piet Piraat is a Flemish children's program written and produced by Studio 100. Shown in Belgium on Ketnet and in the Netherlands on Z@PP, Piet Piraat is a good-natured pirate who crosses the Seven Seas with his crew, getting into various adventures. The five-minute stories bear resemblance to Studio 100's main production, Samson en Gert, and mostly deal with the same subject matter; "cheaters never win" and "honesty is the best policy". Musti is a cartoon character, created by Flemish Belgian graphic artist Ray Goossens. Musti is a little 4-year-old kitten, living with his mother and father in a little house in a rural village, surrounded by a large garden with animals and trees. Musti's mouth is represented as an x. It centers around a young woman, Mieke, (Free Souffriau), who lives with her grandparents and works as a police officer but also has a secret identity as superhero Mega Mindy. She tries to keep it a secret, but falls in love with Toby (Louis Talpe) who also works at the police. He is in love with Mega Mindy and does not know that Mieke secretly likes him and is actually Mega Mindy.
