Keshav Dutt
Keshav Chandra Dutt, also spelt as Keshav Datt (29 December 1925 – 7 July 2021), was an Indian field hockey player and played as a halfback. He was a part of the team that won gold medals at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics. He made 22 international appearances for India and scored two goals in his career. Keshav was the last surviving member of the Indian hockey team which participated at the 1948 London Olympic Games. He was regarded as one of the finest Indian hockey centre half-backs. Keshav Atmanand Maharaj (born 7 February 1990) is a South African professional cricketer who plays for the South Africa national team in Tests, One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket. He is currently the vice-captain of the side in limited overs cricket. He made his debut in first-class cricket in 2006 and his Test debut in November 2016. Keshava (Sanskrit: ') is an epithet of Vishnu in Hindu tradition. Keshava means Parabrahman, according to Hindu scriptures. The name appears as the 23rd and 648th names in the Vishnu Sahasranama of the Mahabharata. Keshava is also venerated by those persons wanting to avert bad luck or ill-omens. Keshav Malik (5 November, 1924 – 11 June, 2014) was an Indian poet, art and literary critic, arts scholar, and curator. He remained art critic for the ''Hindustan Times'' (1960–1972) and ''The Times of India'' (1975–2000). He published eighteen volumes of poetry and edited six anthologies of English translations of Indian poetry. He was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India, for his contribution to literature. In 2004, the Lalit Kala Akademi, India's National Academy of Art, made him a Fellow of the Lalit Kala Akademi for lifetime contribution, which is its highest award. Sri Keshav Rao Koratkar, was a pioneer of political, social and educational reforms in Hyderabad State, India. Initially working on behalf of the Marathi people, he became involved in the Indian independence movement. Early years and career Keshav Rao Koratkar was born in a Deshastha Rigvedi Brahmin family in 1867 at Purjal Village in his maternal grandfather's house. He was one among the five sons of Santukarao, a Maharashtrian. At the age of nine, Keshavraoji left for his sister's house in Gulbarga where he started learning Urdu. Keshav Swami Purohit (died 1690), also known as Keshav Pandit or Keshav Bhat Pandit, was Chhatrapati Shivaji's Rajpurohit (Religious chief) and a Sanskrit scholar and poet of his times. He was also the ‘Rajpurohit’ and ''Danadhyaksha'' of Sambhaji and Rajaram. Sambhaji's schooling took place under his guidance. Keshav Sathe (31 January 1928 – 18 January 2012) was an Indian tabla player, best known for his contributions to the Indo-jazz fusion genre. Among his significant collaborations are the ones with Joe Harriott and John Mayer in 1965–70; Irene Schweizer trio, Barney Wilen and Manfred Schoof in 1967; and later work with John Renbourn, Danny Thompson and Julie Felix.
