Kerry Madsen
Kerry Madsen (3 December 1971) is an Australian sprintcar driver that has raced with the World of Outlaws in both his home country, and predominantly the United States. For years, the Saint Mary's, New South Wales, Australia native has driven a 410, winged sprintcar. Kerry Madsen is from St Marys, New South Wales, Australia; a suburb of Sydney. Though was born in Christchurch New Zealand. He has been driving a sprintcar since the 1990s, and has had success in both America and Australia. Kerry Madsen has been involved with numerous race teams over the years, but is now involved with the Keneric Racing team. For a few seasons in Australia, Kerry drove for the 92.9 Kendrick Race team, sponsored by Bob Gavranich from Perth, Western Australia. Max Dumesny
Max Dumesny (born 12 July 1959, in Nullawarre, Victoria) is an Australian professional Sprintcar driver. Dumesny was born and raised in Victoria but has resided in Nelson, New South Wales since the mid-1990s, although his Sprintcar carries the number V5 (for Victoria #5) that he has used throughout his career, although he has changed that to Australia 1 when he has won both the Australian Formula 500 and Australian Sprintcar Championships. Career Junior Classes Dumesny started his career on motorbikes and it was generally believed that he would go on to a national scrambles career, but fate intervened on a dark night not far from home when riding his motorcycle he struck a cow that had wandered onto the road. After recovering from injuries sustained in the crash, Dumesny decided a career on four wheels was probably a safer bet than one on two wheels and he started racing speedway in a Formula 500 at his local track, the Premier Speedway in Warrnambool. Mount Gambier is the second most populated city in South Australia, with an estimated urban population of 33,233 . Borderline Speedway
Borderline Speedway, is a dirt track racing venue in the Australian state of South Australia located in the locality of Glenburnie, South Australia about east of the city of Mount Gambier. Racing at the speedway generally takes place between November and May. History Borderline Speedway was opened on 23 February 1957 with stock car racing supported by local motorbike races. The South East Racing Car Club took over the promotion of the speedway in 1961 and six years later production car racing was introduced as were the Super Modifieds (later known as Sprintcars). The speedway received its first safety fence in 1970 and the light towers were replaced with a single light tower on the infield. To improve lighting, this was soon joined by a second infield light tower. The old Super Modifieds were phased out and Sprintcars first hit the track in 1977. Kings Challenge
The Kings Challenge is an annual dirt track racing meeting held in Australia for Sprintcars. The meeting is held at the long Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier, South Australia. After the success of the 1995 Australian Sprintcar Championship at the speedway, the first Kings Challenge was held in 1995 and was won by Sydney-based driver Brooke Tatnell. Traditionally run on the Friday night before the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at the Premier Speedway in Warrnambool ( Victoria), the $10,000 to win event was moved to the Thursday night to accommodate the Classic's move to a 3-day event in 2014. With the Kings Challenge running prior to the Classic, the event attracts the best sprintcar drivers from Australia and the United States. Brooke Tatnell (1995), Skip Jackson (1998), Danny Lasoski (2001) and Donny Schatz (2002) are the only drivers to have won the Kings Challenge / Sprintcar Classic double in the same year. Heartland Motorsports Park, formerly known as Heartland Park Topeka, is a multi-purpose motorsports facility south of downtown Topeka, Kansas near the Topeka Regional Airport. When it opened in 1989, Heartland Motorsports Park was the first new auto racing facility to be built in the United States for 20 years. Its facilities include a road-race course with 4 possible configurations (ranging from to in length), a ⅜ mile clay oval, off-road course and a ¼ mile drag strip. After several years of neglect from continual financial difficulties, the track surface and other facilities had deteriorated badly. Perth Motorplex
Perth Motorplex is a motorsport venue located at Kwinana Beach, Western Australia. It caters mainly for drag racing and speedway, although other events are held there regularly. Over 275,000 patrons attend the venue each year to many varied events. The Perth Motorplex holds rounds of the World Series Sprintcars championship. History Perth Motorplex (formerly Quit Motorplex) opened in 2000. It replaced the Claremont Speedway which was run at the Claremont Showground from 1927, and the Ravenswood Raceway Drag Racing strip. Perris Auto Speedway, also known as the PAS, is a 1/2 mile clay oval track located at 18700 Lake Perris Drive on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds in Perris, California. The track features a raised backstretch offering fans a better view over the infield of the oval. The track hosts USAC/CRA sprint cars, street stocks, dirt modifieds, and many others. Volusia Speedway Park
Volusia Speedway Park (formerly known as Volusia County Speedway and Barberville Speedway) is an auto racing facility located near Barberville in Volusia County, Florida. It currently operates as a 1/2-mile dirt oval and a 1/5-mile dirt oval for karts. The track currently hosts races from the World of Outlaws series (both sprints and late models) and the UMP late model series, As well as the UMP Super DIRTcar Series (Both big-block and small block modified racing). The track was built by Benny Corbin and opened in 1968 as a 1/4 mile dirt oval, operating through 1969. It expanded to 3/8 mile (still dirt) in August 1969, operating through 1971.
