Kermit Johnson
Kermit DeKoven Johnson (born February 22, 1952) is a former American football running back who played two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 1974 NFL Draft. Johnson attended Blair High School in his hometown of Pasadena, California. He played college football for the UCLA Bruins football team, where he was a Consensus All-American and was named to the 1973 All-Pacific-8 Conference football team. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. The World Football League (WFL) was an American football league that played one full season in 1974 and most of its second in 1975. Although the league's proclaimed ambition was to bring American football onto a worldwide stage, the farthest the WFL reached was placing a team – the Hawaiians – in Honolulu, Hawaii.
