Kermit Blosser Ohio Athletics Hall Of Fame
The Kermit Blosser Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame is the hall of fame for Ohio Bobcats athletes and athletic personnel. Since 1965, selectees to the Hall are inducted during annual ceremonies, including recognition at halftime of a home college football game. Inductees are also honored via display of their portrait and accomplishments in the Hall, located in the university's Convocation Center. Since 2000, the Hall usually names three to five new inductees each year. Kermit Blosser On October 20, 2006, Ohio athletic director Kirby Hocutt announced the renaming of the Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame to the Kermit Blosser Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame. Kermit Goell (1915 – December 4, 1997) was an American songwriter and archaeologist. Biography Born in Brooklyn, Goell received his BSC in agriculture from Cornell University and served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. As an amateur archeologist Goell helped excavate several ancient sites in Turkey with his archeologist sister, Theresa Goell. "Huggin' and Chalkin'", Goell's song written with Clancy Hayes, was recorded by Kay Kyser, Hoagy Carmichael and Johnny Mercer, and his "One Finger Melody" was a hit for Frank Sinatra. Goell was the lyricist of the 1947 hit ''Near You'' with music by Francis Craig. "Near You" was a hit for Craig and his band as well as the Andrews Sisters and pianist Roger Williams a decade later. In 1947 ''Billboard'' reported that Goell's lawyers had written to Craig accusing him of portraying himself as the sole author of "Near You". Kermit Romeo Erasmus (born 8 July 1990) is a South African professional soccer player who plays for South African Premier Soccer League side Orlando Pirates and the South Africa national team. Born in Port Elizabeth, Erasmus moved to Pretoria as a teenager where he made his professional debut with SuperSport United in 2007. He spent the next two seasons in the Netherlands with Feyenoord and Excelsior before returning to SuperSport United. During his second spell with the club, he made over 50 appearances and helped his side to the Nedbank Cup title before joining Orlando Pirates in 2013. He led Pirates to the same cup title in 2014 before leaving to join Rennes in France the following year. Kermit Cintrón (born October 22, 1979) is a Puerto Rican former professional boxer and online boxing writer. He held the IBF welterweight title from 2006 to 2008, and has challenged once for the WBC super welterweight title in 2011. Early and personal life Cintrón had a difficult childhood.
