Alan Kerins
Alan Kerins (born 1977) is an Irish sportsman, humanitarian, social entrepreneur and philanthropist. Kerins was a dual player for Galway, a hurler between 1997 and 2011 and a footballer between 2001 and 2004. He played with the senior inter-county team until 2011. Kerins played hurling with his local club Clarinbridge and football with Salthill-Knocknacarra. He is also founder and CEO of The Inner Winner Institute, a personal development training company. Early life Kerins's mother runs a B&B in Clarinbridge. His father Monty was a significant presence as a coach of hurling in Galway and was a selector for the county's minor and senior teams. Kerins studied physiotherapy at Trinity College Dublin. Charles M. Kerins (December 7, 1915 – January 1988) is an American illustrator and painter. Education He graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Northeastern University. Kerins studied under sculptor Cyrus Dallin who had a profound effect on the artist's attention to anatomy in his paintings. Career Kerins chronicled the idealized American dream of the 1950s and 1960s in paintings which appeared as covers for Boston Red Sox Yearbooks, Converse Yearbooks, Catholic Boy magazine and ads in the '' Saturday Evening Post'', ''Life'', '' Look'', and '' National Geographic'' magazine. Oil portraits constituted much of his body of work. Portraits include; Wifred L. O'Leary, John F. Kennedy, Richard Cushing, Joseph Martin, Pope John XXIII among others. Charlie Kerins
Charlie Kerins ( ga, Cathal Ó Céirín; 23 January 1918 – 1 December 1944) was a physical force Irish Republican, and Chief of Staff of the Irish Republican Army. Kerins was one of six IRA men who were executed by the Irish State between September 1940 and December 1944. After spending two years on the run he was captured by the Gardaí in 1944. Following his subsequent trial and conviction for the 1942 murder of Garda Detective Sergeant Denis O'Brien, Kerins was hanged at Mountjoy Prison in Dublin. Early life Kerins was born in Caherina, Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland and attended Balloonagh Mercy Convent School and then the CBS, Edward Street. John Kerins
John Nelson Kerins (July 15, 1858 – September 8, 1919), sometimes known as Jack Kerins, was an American Major League Baseball player who appeared mainly at first base but also at catcher and in the outfield. He played for the Indianapolis Hoosiers (), Louisville Colonels (-), Baltimore Orioles () and St. Louis Browns (). He was a player-manager for Louisville in 1888 and for St. Louis in 1890, and he umpired American Association games through 1891. Biography Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kerins began his major league career with the Indianapolis Hoosiers of the American Association. After the season, the Hoosiers folded, and John moved on to the Louisville Colonels, where he spent the next few seasons. Michael Joseph Kerins (born 1952), is a Scottish-origined British writer and storyteller. Kerins was born in Glasgow in 1952. He has received a variety of awards for his works inside and outside of his area. Biography Kerins was born in August 1952 in a Scottish family in Glasgow. His father was blind, but the level of his oral communication abilities was considerable. It is believed that Michael took after his father in his talent of telling stories. Michael Kerins is the sixth generation of storytellers in his family. He has had the status of mentor and member of The Scottish Storytelling Forum since 1988.
