Keralapuram
Keralapuram is a suburban town in Kollam District of Kerala, India. It is located on National Highway 744 (India) at a distance of around 10 kilometers from Kollam City. Keralapuram is famous for numerous cashew factories in the region. It is split into Kottamkara Panchayath and Perinad Panchayath by the National Highway. In Kerala state legislative assembly elections, Keralapuram votes for Kundara Assembly constituency. History Keralapuram lies in between Kollam City, and the historic trade hub Kundara. The Kundara Proclamation by Velu Thampi Dalawa in the year 1809, which is considered to be one of the first events of freedom fight against the British Raj in Kerala, happened at a distance of 3 kilometers from the present day Keralapuram. Kainakary Thankaraj
Kainakary Thankaraj ( ml, കൈനകരി തങ്കരാജ്, 18 October 1946 – 3 April 2022) was an Indian actor, who worked in the Malayalam movie industry and Malayalam Drama Theater Industry. Life and career Kainakary, the son of the playwright Krishnankutty Bhagavathar, was born on 18 October 1946 in Kainakary, Travancore. He started acting at the age of 13 and worked on several theater committees, including Kerala People's Arts Club. He made his film debut in Aanappaachan (1978) starring Prem Nazir. He went on to act in over 35 films. Thankaraj started acting in plays while he was still in school and soon became a popular face in the amateur theatre circuit along with Nedumudi Venu, Faasil and Alleppey Ashraf. His first professional play was Changanasserry Geetha. He has been part of many professional theatre collectives including Kottayam National Theaters, Chalakkuddy Saradhi and KPAC. Karicode or Karikodu is a neighbourhood of Kollam city in India. It is about 5 km away from Kollam city centre. Karicode is the 23rd ward in Kollam Municipal Corporation council. The place is very famous because of the educational institutions by TKM Group(Thangal Kunju Musaliar Group). Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering in Kollam is the first self-financing engineering college in Kerala state. The college, established in 1958, is to be considered as the pioneers in engineering education in Kerala. TKM Arts & Science college is also situated at Karicode. The Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering, commonly known as TKMCE, is the first government-aided engineering institution in the Indian state of Kerala inaugurated on 3 July 1958. Velu Thampi Dalawa
Velayudhan Chempakaraman Thampi of Thalakulam (1765–1809) was the Dalawa or Prime Minister of the Indian kingdom of Travancore between 1802 and 1809 during the reign of Bala Rama Varma Kulasekhara Perumal. He is best known for being one of the earliest individuals to rebel against the British East India Company's authority in India.
