Kēōkea is an unincorporated populated place in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States. It is located at , near the junction of Māmalahoa Highway ( Route 11) and Keala o Keawe Road ( Route 160), elevation . Satellite imagery shows evidence of a humid climate with agriculture dominant around the settlement. Just to the north is the area of Hōnaunau. It was the name for the land division ('' ahupuaa'') of ancient Hawaii that stretched from the shoreline to Mauna Loa owned by Mataio Kekūanāoa. The name is used for several places throughout the Hawaiian Islands. A county park named Kēōkea is on the north coast of the Hawaii Island, at . Hawaiian (', ) is a Polynesian language of the Austronesian language family that takes its name from Hawaii, the largest island in the tropical North Pacific archipelago where it developed. Mauna Loa
Mauna Loa ( or ; Hawaiian: ; en, Long Mountain) is one of five volcanoes that form the Island of Hawaii in the U.S. state of Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. The largest subaerial volcano (as opposed to subaqueous volcanoes) in both mass and volume, Mauna Loa has historically been considered the largest volcano on Earth, dwarfed only by Tamu Massif. Ancient Hawaii
Ancient Hawaii is the period of Hawaiian history preceding the unification in 1810 of the Kingdom of Hawaii by Kamehameha the Great. Hōnaunau-Nāpōopoo ( haw, Hōnaunau-Nāpōopoo) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 2,416 at the 2020 census. Geography Hōnaunau-Nāpōopoo is located on the west side of the island of Hawaii at . It is bordered to the north by the Captain Cook CDP and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. It contains the unincorporated community of Hōnaunau in the southwest corner of the CDP, on Hōnaunau Bay, and Nāpōopoo in the northwest corner, on Kealakekua Bay. Agriculture
Agriculture or farming is the practice of cultivating plants and livestock.
