Kenyan Sub-County Leagues
The Kenyan Sub-County Leagues are the sixth and lowest tier of the Kenyan football league system. They have a promotion and relegation system with the Kenyan County Champions League. Member clubs are amateur. The leagues were formed on 10 July 2013 in line with the introduction of a new six-tier system by the Football Kenya Federation to take effect from the beginning of the 2014 season. The Kenyan football league system is a series of several interconnected leagues for association football clubs in Kenya. Structure As of 2017,the top tier league in Kenya is the FKF Premier League, with the FKF National Super League below it. The FKF National Division One and National Division Two are the third and fourth tiers of the system respectively, both divided into two zones for the Eastern and Western halves of Kenya. Division Two is further divided into two groups consisting of teams from various regions in Eastern and Western Kenya. Below the national leagues are the Regional Leagues, divided into regional divisions based on the former Provinces of Kenya (except for North Eastern), some of which are further divided into a number of zones. Football Kenya Federation
The Football Kenya Federation (abbreviated as Football Kenya or FKF) is the governing body of football in Kenya. The FKF organizes the Kenyan Premier League, the Kenyan Women's Premier League, FKF Division One, FKF Women Division One and Kenya national football teams. It is headed by Nick Mwendwa. History The Federation was founded in 1960 as a FIFA affiliation, in 1961 it was a CAF affiliation, and later it was a CECAFA affiliation in 1973. On November 2011, Football Kenya Limited (FKL) was disbanded as it wanted to cease being a limited company.
