Kentucky Route 7 (KY 7) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky. Route description Kentucky Route 7 begins at a junction with KY 15 at Jeff in Perry County. The route continues through the cities of Blackey in Letcher County, Wayland in Floyd County, Salyersville in Magoffin County, West Liberty in Morgan County, Sandy Hook in Elliott County, Grayson in Carter County, and South Shore in Greenup County, where the route terminates at East First Avenue a short distance north of US 23. History Beginning in the early 1960s, KY 7 was relocated near Bruin when a portion of the Little Sandy River was impounded to create Grayson Lake. To facilate a growing number of recreational enthusiasts, KY 7 was reconstructed on a new two-lane alignment from the northern edge of the Grayson Lake recreational area to Grayson between 1965 and 1975. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is Kentucky's state-funded agency charged with building and maintaining federal highways and Kentucky state highways, as well as regulating other transportation related issues. The Transportation Cabinet is led by the Kentucky Secretary of Transportation, who is appointed by the governor of Kentucky. The current Secretary is Jim Gray, who was appointed by Democratic Governor Andy Beshear. As of October 2012, KYTC maintains of roadways in the state. Kentucky Route 15
Kentucky Route 15 begins at a junction of US 119/Corridor F & Business KY 15 in Whitesburg, and terminates in Winchester at US 60. It is a major route, connecting the coalfields of the Cumberland Plateau with Lexington and other cities in the Bluegrass region. The segment from Whitesburg to KY 15 at Campton, which in turn connects to the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway near the town, is also the primary part of Corridor I of the Appalachian Development Highway System. Future Currently, KY 15 is being relocated onto a new four-lane divided alignment in phases. Construction on section 17 of the relocation project is from KY 205 at Vancleve to Fivemile; construction began on January 6, 2005, at a cost of $36.4 million and is 100% complete. Alice Lloyd College is a private work college in Pippa Passes, Kentucky. It was co-founded by the journalist Alice Spencer Geddes Lloyd (a native of Cambridge, Massachusetts) and June Buchanan (a native of New York City) in 1923, at first under the name of Caney Junior College. Interstate 75 (I-75) is a major north–south Interstate Highway in the Great Lakes and Southeastern regions of the United States. Kentucky Route 30
Kentucky Route 30 (KY 30) is an east–west state highway in Kentucky managed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. It goes through Laurel, Jackson, Owsley, Breathitt, Magoffin Counties. Route description KY 30 begins at an intersection with the Hal Rogers Parkway in London, and goes north as a divided highway until it becomes an undivided two-lane highway about a mile up the road. The road is a recently constructed standard highway with 11ft wide lanes and shoulders on both sides of the road, with a speed limit of 55mph. The road continues through Greenmount into Jackson County. The road then goes through the hilly terrain of Jackson County, and runs past Annville and reaches US 421 at Tyner. At this point, the road is no longer a standard highway and runs as a concurrency to the northern part of Tyner, where it goes east towards Mummie.
