Kentucky Transportation Cabinet
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is Kentucky's state-funded agency charged with building and maintaining federal highways and Kentucky state highways, as well as regulating other transportation related issues. Centerfield is an unincorporated community in Oldham County, Kentucky, United States. It is a small suburban community that lies approximately 4 miles northeast of Crestwood on KY Highway 22 and approximately 6.5 miles southwest of La Grange. Nearby schools are Centerfield Elementary, Locust Grove Elementary and East Oldham Middle School. The two closest high schools are Oldham County High School in Buckner and South Oldham High School in Crestwood. US 42 (KY)
U.S. Route 42 (US 42) is an east–west United States highway that runs southwest–northeast for from Louisville, Kentucky to Cleveland, Ohio. The route has several names including Pearl Road from Cleveland to Medina in Northeast Ohio, Reading Road in Cincinnati, Cincinnati and Lebanon Pike in southwestern Ohio and Brownsboro Road in Louisville. Traveling northeast, the highway ends in downtown Cleveland and traveling southwest ends in Louisville. Interstate 71 (I-71) fully supplanted US 42 as an interurban highway in the early 1960s, relegating US 42 to its current role as an ordinary town-to-town surface road. Additionally, I-71 passes through Columbus, where US 42 avoids Columbus completely. It remains intact as a route; no part of it has ever been diverted to any Interstate highway. Kentucky Route 22 (KY 22) is a east–west highway running from the eastern suburbs of Louisville to an unincorporated place called Willow in Bracken County in Northern Kentucky. Route 22 has a short business route in Dry Ridge, an area which has become a commercial center as an I-75 exit.
