Kentucky Route 1295
Kentucky Route 1295 (KY 1295) is an state highway in Kentucky that runs from Kentucky Route 52 immediately southwest of Hyattsville to Kentucky Route 52 again southwest of Richmond. It serves Hyattsville and Kirksville. It is mainly used as a time saver for traffic between Richmond and Lancaster. It is notorious among locals as being a very dangerous highway as many accidents have occurred on that highway. It is known as Moran Mill Road in Madison County, and Kirksville Road in Garrard County. Garrard County ( ;) is a county located in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the county's population was 16,953. Its county seat is Lancaster. The county was formed in 1796 and was named for James Garrard, Governor of Kentucky from 1796 to 1804. It is a prohibition or dry county, although its county seat, Lancaster, is wet. Lancaster was founded as a collection of log cabins in 1776 near a spring that later provided a constant source of water to early pioneers. It is one of the oldest cities in the Commonwealth. Boonesborough, 25 miles to the east, was founded by Daniel Boone in 1775. Lexington, 28 miles to the north, was founded in 1775. Madison County is a county located in the central part of the U.S. state of Kentucky. At the 2020 census, its population was 92,701. Its county seat is Richmond. The county is named for Virginia statesman James Madison, who later became the fourth President of the United States. The county is part of the Richmond-Berea, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area which is also included in the Lexington–Fayette–Richmond– Frankfort, KY Combined Statistical Area. Kentucky Route 52 (KY 52) is a long east–west state highway in Kentucky, United States, managed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Its western terminus is at US 62 near Boston, Kentucky. It goes through Nelson, LaRue, Marion, Boyle, Garrard, Madison, Estill, Lee, and Breathitt counties. Its eastern terminus is at KY 30 in Breathitt County. It runs through Lebanon, Danville, Lancaster, Richmond, and Beattyville. In 2005, the five-lane stretch of KY 52 in Madison County was completed.
