Kento Itohara
is a Japanese professional baseball infielder for the Hanshin Tigers in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball. Early Baseball Career Born and raised in Unnan City, Kento started playing ball in 2nd grade. In his 1st year in Shimane Kaisei High, he recorded hits in 9 consecutive at bats in the Chuugoku regional tournaments. His school made it to the Koshien national tournaments in his 2nd and 3rd year. In their 1st round match against Sendai Ikuei High, despite hitting what would've been a winning 2-base hit in the 9th inning when they were just a point behind, the opposing defense caught Kento's hit and ended the game. An infielder is a baseball player stationed at one of four defensive "infield" positions on the baseball field.
