Kenny Myers
Kenny Myers was an executive at Mercury Records during the 1960s. He later became general manager for a subsidiary of Dot Records. He also ran his own record label, Amaret Records. He left the music industry in the mid-1970s for the Regensteiner Printing Company. He is also a former musician. Musical background Before he joined Mercury Records, he was a trumpet player with the Eddy Howard Orchestra. He sang and played alongside fellow trumpeter, vocalist, Bob Capelli. From 1946 - 1947, he played alongside Capelli and Sid Commings. He was also part of a vocal trio that consisted of Eddy Howard and Norman Lee. When Myers left he was replaced on trumpet and vocals by Wally Fobart. It also appears that Myers may have recorded under his own name for Leo Records. Elva Ruby Miller (October 5, 1907 – July 5, 1997), who recorded under the name "Mrs. Miller", was an American singer who gained some fame in the 1960s, for her series of shrill and off-tempo renditions of popular songs such as " Moon River", "Monday, Monday", "A Lover's Concerto", and " Downtown". An untrained mezzo-soprano, she sang in a heavy, vibrato-laden style; according to Irving Wallace, David Wallechinsky and Amy Wallace in '' The Book of Lists 2,'' Miller's voice was compared to the sound of "roaches scurrying across a trash can lid." Judy Lynn
Judy Lynn Kelly (born Judy Lynn Voiten; April 16, 1936 – May 26, 2010), better known by her stage name Judy Lynn, was an American country music singer and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Idaho in 1955. Life and career Lynn was born in Boise, Idaho, United States. As a teenager she joined a nationwide tour of Grand Ole Opry performers. She was hired to fill in for Jean Shepard, who had become ill during the tour. She soon married her manager and for over 20 years her show was a popular staple piece of the Las Vegas strip, featuring her brand of country music, appearing in dazzling Nudie costumes. In 1951, Lynn starred in the Broadway musical '' Top Banana'' and its film adaptation, alongside comedic actor Phil Silvers who won a Tony Award for his performance. Mercury Records
Mercury Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group. It had significant success as an independent operation in the 1940s and 1950s. Smash Records and Fontana Records were sub labels of Mercury. In the United States, it is operated through Republic Records; in the United Kingdom and Japan (as Mercury Tokyo in the latter country), it is distributed by EMI Records. Since the separation of Island Records, Motown, Mercury Records, and Def Jam Recordings combining the Island Def Jam Music Group, Mercury Records has been placed under Island Records, although its back catalogue is still owned by the Island Def Jam Music Group (now Island Records).
