Kenneth Lamott
Kenneth Church Lamott (April 8, 1923 – August 18, 1979) was an American writer. Early life and education Lamott spent his childhood in Japan, where his father was a Presbyterian missionary. The family returned to the United States in 1938 after Lamott had spent two years at the American School in Japan. Lamott graduated from Montclair High School in Montclair, New Jersey, and began studies in engineering at Yale in 1940. He left during World War II and joined the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant. After attending the US Navy Japanese/Oriental Language School at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he was assigned to interrogate Japanese prisoners of war. Following the War, he returned to Yale, where he received a degree in English. He married Dorothy Wyles in 1946, with whom he had three children. A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. Typically deployed in symmetric pairs, an individual bracket may be identified as a 'left' or 'right' bracket or, alternatively, an "opening bracket" or "closing bracket", respectively, depending on the Writing system#Directionality, directionality of the context. Tiburon, California
Tiburon (; es, Tiburón, ) is an incorporated town in Marin County, California. It is located on the Tiburon Peninsula, which reaches south into the San Francisco Bay. It shares a ZIP code with the smaller incorporated city of Belvedere (formerly a separate island), which occupies the southwest part of the peninsula and is contiguous with Tiburon. Tiburon is bordered by Corte Madera to the north and Mill Valley to the west, but is otherwise mostly surrounded by the bay. Besides Belvedere and Tiburon, much of the peninsula is unincorporated, including portions of the north side and the communities of Strawberry and Paradise Cay. The population of Tiburon was 9,146 at the 2020 census and has 6,600 registered voters. Belvedere and Tiburon share a post office, library and recreation agency. ''Science in Action'' was a weekly half-hour television program devoted to science. The program was produced by the California Academy of Sciences, and was broadcast from 1950-1966. It was thus among the first live science television program in the United States; ''The Johns Hopkins Science Review'' was broadcast from 1948–1955, and is apparently the very first such program. In all, 566 programs were produced. Dr. Tom Groody hosted the program for its first two years; he was succeeded by Dr. Earl S. Herald, who was the host for the following fourteen years until production ceased in 1966.
