Kenneth Hunter (physician)
Kenneth Ross Hunter FRCP (31 May 1939 – 26 April 2013) was a Scottish consultant physician who specialised in diabetes. Education Hunter was born in Glasgow and educated at Strathallan School near Perth, Scotland, and St John's College, Cambridge. He proceeded to University College Hospital, London, for his clinical training and was awarded the Fellowes gold medal. Following the conclusion of his house appointments, which included working for Max Rosenheim, he was appointed to a general medical rotation post between the University College Hospital and the Whittington Hospital. In 1967, he gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Physician Hunter completed his MD and was appointed to a general medical rotating post in Bristol, though he started in Plymouth, and this is where he began working with diabetes. After four years in Bristol he was seconded to Hammersmith Hospital in London, to receive specialist training in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics. ... Kenneth Hunter (cricketer)
Kenneth Owen Hunter (7 July 1881 – 25 March 1960) was an English first-class cricketer and stockbroker. The son of Robert Lewin Hunter, he was born at Westminster in July 1881. He was educated at Winchester College, before going up to New College, Oxford. After graduating from Oxford, he was commissioned into the Royal Hampshire Regiment as a second lieutenant in September 1903. In 1905, he toured North America with the Marylebone Cricket Club, making two first-class appearances against the Gentlemen of Philadelphia at Germantown and Merion. In the first match at Germantown, he claimed a five wicket haul with his bowling. He claimed one further wicket on the tour, his six wickets coming at an average of 11.83. Kenneth Adams Hunter OBE, CStJ, CD, QHP, (born 28 August 1904) was the 17th and 20th Canadian Surgeon General. Biography Born in London, Ontario, Kenneth A. Hunter was educated at the University of Western Ontario, where he graduated with a Medical Degree in 1930. During his studies, Hunter was a member of the Non-Permanent Army Militia (NPAM) and was in the Machine Gun Corps from 1922 to 1926. In 1927, he joined the regular force in the Machine Gun Corps as a Lieutenant and remained with this corps until 1930; at which time, Hunter joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (RCAMC). He was promoted to Captain in 1931, Major in 1939, Lieutenant-Colonel in 1940, Colonel in 1943. During World War II, Hunter served with the RCAMC throughout Europe from 1940 to 1943, and for his service with 2nd Field Ambulance during the attack on Dieppe, he was Mentioned in Dispatch in 1942. Kenneth Ronald Hunter (born 28 April 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and for the Claremont Football Club in the Western Australian Football League (WAFL). A member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame, Western Australian Football Hall of Fame and Carlton Hall of Fame, Hunter was a versatile and superbly skilled footballer who is best remembered for his courageous, if not reckless, aerial ability, frequently launching himself at various angles, often against bigger oncoming players, to mark the ball. When Hunter first arrived to play in the VFL, many questioned whether his style of play would stand up to the physical pressure, given his scrawny build (weighing in at only 76 kilograms).
