Kenneth Herdigein
Kenneth Herdigein (born June 12, 1959 in Paramaribo) is a Dutch actor of Surinamese descent, best known as a television actor in popular Dutch comedy-dramas. Career Herdigein first gained popularity as a television actor in the 1980s, in such shows as ''Opzoek naar Yolanda'' (1984), ''We zijn weer thuis'' (1989-1994), and '' Zeg 'ns Aaa'' (1988-1993). Herdigein has also performed in musicals, such as ''Amandla! Mandela'', 2009 in which he played Nelson Mandela, and has directed for the stage, such as ''Adio...mijn liefste'' (1995), in which he also performed, and ''Ons Kent Ons'' (2011), a cabaret-musical dealing with the Dutch history of slavery performed in the Tropenmuseum. In 2005 he was given the Cosmic Award (by Job Cohen) at the annual ''Hollandse Nieuwe'' theater festival in Amsterdam; the award is given to the best Dutch artist of non-Dutch descent. Paramaribo (; ; nicknamed Par'bo) is the capital and largest city of Suriname, located on the banks of the Suriname River in the Paramaribo District. ''Baantjer'' is a Dutch television programme which was broadcast by RTL 4 from 6 October 1995 until 1 December 2006 for a total of 123 episodes in 12 seasons. It stars Piet Römer as Jurriaan 'Jurre' de Cock, a police detective, and Victor Reinier as Dick Vledder, his helper. The series is based on the novels of writer A. C. Baantjer. ''Goede tijden, slechte tijden'' (, ), also known as ''GTST'' or simply ''Goede tijden'', is the longest-running Dutch soap opera, which began on 1 October 1990 on RTL4. The programme was the first daily (every workday) soap in the Netherlands and Europe. The soap is produced by Joop van den Ende and to date over 6,300 episodes have been broadcast. It was inspired by the Australian soap ''The Restless Years'', although it started following its own course during the third season. GTST is broadcast Monday to Friday at 20:00. ''SpangaS'' (also known as ''SpangaS: De Campus'') was a Dutch youth series, created by the NCRV and the makers of ZOOP. The television series revolved around the lives of a group of students at Spangalis College. Episodes revolved around a wide range of student activities and personal drama during secondary education. The program was similar in format and subject matter to the Canadian series ''DeGrassi'' but with a more lighthearted feel aimed towards tweenagers and younger teens. A ''SpangaS'' movie, ''SpangaS op Survival'', premiered on September 30, 2009. The plot focuses on the students' trip to the Belgian Ardennes. The series is set in Maastricht, Limburg, a city in the south of the Netherlands, and began broadcasting on Dutch channel NPO 1 on 3 September 2007. The series is a spin-off of the Flemish show ''Flikken'' set in Ghent, Belgium.
