Kenmare GAA
Kenmare GAA (Irish: ) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Kenmare in County Kerry. The club competes as a joint divisional side with other clubs from the Kenmare area like Templenoe in the underage county championship and as an individual club in senior competitions including the Kerry county senior football championship. History The Kenmare Athletic Club was founded on 25 September 1888 when they held a meeting with the newly formed GAA. The club was originally named after Daniel O'Connell, a famous Kerry politician. Kenmare played in the inaugural Co. Kerry Championships in Football and Hurling in 1889. The footballers lost that year in the quarter final to eventual champions Laune Rangers. Munster Junior Club Football Championship
The Munster Junior Club Football Championship, formally known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Junior Club Football Championship, is a Gaelic football competition, organized by the Munster provincial council of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The competition is played between the winners of the Junior Football championships in the 6 counties of Munster. It was first played officially in 2003 when Annascaul from Kerry and Carbery Rangers from Cork played each other. The winners of this competition will play against the winners of the other three provincial champions and the winner of the Britain championship for the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship. Paul O'Connor (Gaelic Footballer)
Paul O'Connor is an Irish Gaelic footballer with the Kenmare GAA club and Kerry county team. Playing career Paul O'Connor was Kerry's forward in the 2004 and 2005 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, scoring 6 points in the 2004 final which Kerry lost to Tyrone. The following year, he was selected for the senior panel. The 19-year-old was a shock selection at left corner-forward for Kerry in the Munster Senior Football Championship final against Cork. It was his first All-Ireland Senior Football Championship start. The Cork side won, and O'Connor never really got into the game. He remained in the panel up to 2010, but only as a peripheral forward. Seamus McIntyre
Seamus McIntyre (1971–22 April 2001) was a dual player from Kenmare, County Kerry. Background McIntyre was born in 1971 to PJ and Mamie McIntyre. His father was a Garda as well as a former Kerry hurler and footballer and a GAA administrator, while his mother had been very closely involved in the Community Games movement. He had a brother, Padraig, and a sister, Geraldine. McIntyre had been an outstanding campaigner with the Kerry hurlers in the 1990s, playing against top teams such as Clare, Offaly, Tipperery, Kilkenny, Galway and Waterfprd. He also played with the Kerry junior football team during this time winning a Munster Junior Football Championship medal with them in 1995. He played with the Kenmare club before his work with the Garda Síochána took him to County Galway where he joined the Gort club and later to County Cork where he joined Ballincollig. Seán O'Shea
Seán O'Shea (Irish: ''Seán Ó Sé'') (born 17 July 1998) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Kerry SFC club Kenmare Shamrocks and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. He usually lines out as a forward. Career O'Shea played Gaelic football at juvenile and underage levels with the Kenmare Shamrocks club. He eventually progressed onto the club's intermediate team and scored 1-05 when the club won the Munster Club Championship title in 2016. O'Shea first appeared on the inter-county scene during a two year-stint with the Kerry minor football team. Stephen O'Brien (Kerry Footballer)
Stephen O'Brien (born 27 February 1991) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Kenmare Shamrocks club and at senior level for the Kerry county team since 2014. His father died in 2014, while his mother runs a bed and breakfast in Kenmare. Underage and junior O'Brien never played with the Kerry minor team. He joined the county's under-21 team in 2011. Kerry sustained a 22-point loss to Cork in the Munster final. He was still underage in 2012 and for the second year in a row he was on the losing side in a Munster final to Cork after extra time. Féile Na NGael
Féile na nGael (; Irish for "Festival of the Gaels") is an annual tournament comprising the sports of hurling, camogie and handball organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. Its stated aim is to bond communities, forge friendships, provide educational opportunities and unearth new leaders. The competition hosts approximately 25,000 boys and girls each year with all 32 of Ireland's Gaelic games counties represented along with teams from London and Warwickshire. Dr Crokes GAA
Dr Crokes is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. Notable players include Colm Cooper. Founded in 1886, the club's successes include the capture of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 1992 and 2017. The club has won the Munster Club Championship on eight occasions - 1991, 1992, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2018. The club has won the Kerry Senior Football Championship on thirteen occasions, most recently in the 2018 championship. Kilgarvan GAA
Kilgarvan is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Kerry, Ireland. They play in the Intermediate Hurling Championship and Division 2 county league. Kilgarvan play football in Division 5 of the county league and in the Kenmare District Board championship and County Novice Championship. History The club was founded in 1889. It was one of the five founding clubs of competitive hurling in Kerry. In 1889 Kilgarvan was one of five clubs who competed in the first Kerry Senior Hurling Championship. Kilgarvan won three Kerry Senior Hurling Championship in 1953, 1956 and 1958. In 2007 Kilgarvan became the first Kerry club to win a Munster Hurling club game when they beat Caherline from Limerick in the Quarter-final of the Munster Junior Club Hurling Championship on a scoreline of 2-11 to 2-09. Kerry Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Kerry Intermediate Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by mid-tier Kerry GAA clubs. Kilgarvan are the title holders (2022). Extra-time can be used to determine the winners of games. Honours The winners play in the Munster Junior Club Hurling Championship, such as Kilgarvan in 2018, and if successful there, can represent the province in the All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship. Unlike in other counties, the winning team is not automatically promoted to the senior grade after winning.
