Kendall McComas
Kendall McComas (October 29, 1916 – October 15, 1981) was an American child actor. Career Born in Holton, Kansas, McComas first appeared in the '' Mickey McGuire'' short subjects series as a member of Mickey McGuire's gang and stayed throughout the series run in the silent era. He also played the role of Stinky Davis in some of the series' earliest sound shorts. In 1931, he joined the ''Our Gang'' series, first appearing in the 1932 Our Gang short ''Readin' and Writin'''. McComas stayed with Our Gang for a full year and left the series after appearing in the 1932 short ''Birthday Blues''. Even though he was well into his teens during his ''Our Gang'' tenure, McComas was very short for his age and thus capably portrayed his grade-school-age character Breezy aka Brisbane. Holton, Kansas
Holton is a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 3,401. History The party that chose the site of Holton started at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in May 1856. A train of six covered wagons, each drawn by two yoke of oxen, started the long trek to take Free State settlers to Kansas. They were financed by the Kansas Society of Milwaukee which was headed by Edward Dwight Holton, the Milwaukee abolitionist. They met General James H. Lane with two hundred men at Nebraska City, Nebraska, a rendezvous for Free State men. They followed the ''Jim Lane Road'' into Kansas approximately thirty miles. They came to Elk Creek, 2½ miles west of Holton, where they cut timbers to make a bridge, crossed it and made camp where Central School now stands. ''Choo-Choo!'' is a 1932 ''Our Gang'' short comedy film directed by Robert F. McGowan. It was the 114th (26th talking episode) ''Our Gang'' short that was released. It is a remake of the 1923 ''Our Gang'' film '' A Pleasant Journey''. Plot Exchanging clothes with a group of runaway orphans who escape from a train, the gang ends up on a train headed for Chicago. Pressed into service as the kids' supervisor, Travelers Aid attendant Mr. Henderson (Dell Henderson) suffers torment, especially when he tries to prevent three-year-old Spanky from socking the nose of every adult in sight. Things come to a head late that night when Stymie accidentally releases a monkey from its cage, and the monkey in turn releases a menagerie of circus animals from the baggage car and then lights some fireworks.
