Ken Rangkuty
Ken Rangkuty (born January 6, 1981) is a German-Indonesian composer, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. Known under the stage name Keenhouse, he produces electronic music covering a wide spectrum including synthwave ambient and house music. Group and production work As a writer, arranger, and producer Ken Rangkuty has been active in a variety of musical styles that range from jazz and bossa nova to electronic and soundtrack music. He has worked with Japanese new-age producer Osamu Kitajima, rock producer John Ryan, disco producer Luxxury, and vocalist Maiya Sykes of Postmodern Jukebox. Works with Osamu Kitajima feature him mainly as a pianist and arranger on the studio album ''Make Over'' by the bossa nova duo MAKE. The duo consisted of singer Mayumi Kaneyuki and Ken Rangkuty. Giessen
Giessen, spelled Gießen in German (), is a town in the German state (''Bundesland'') of Hesse, capital of both the district of Giessen and the administrative region of Giessen. The population is approximately 90,000, with roughly 37,000 university students. Synthwave
Synthwave (also called outrun, retrowave, or futuresynth) is an electronic music microgenre that is based predominantly on the music associated with action, science-fiction, and horror film soundtracks of the 1980s. Other influences are drawn from the decade's art and video games. Synthwave musicians often espouse nostalgia for 1980s culture and attempt to capture the era's atmosphere and celebrate it. The genre developed in the mid-to late 2000s through French house producers, as well as younger artists who were inspired by the 2002 video game '' Grand Theft Auto: Vice City''. The Valerie Collective was founded as a musical cooperation in Nantes, France, in 2007 by David Grellier and his friends and colleagues. Various acts in Valerie include The Outrunners, Minitel Rose, Anoraak, Maethelvin, all from Nantes as well as Russ Chimes from London and DVAS from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. West Indian Girl is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, United States. The band's name comes from a type of lysergic acid (LSD) that was popular in the early 1960s. The initials are also a reference to Robert James' and Francis Ten's previous band, "WIG". History The band released their self-titled debut album in August 2004 on Astralwerks.
