Ken Jay
Kenneth "Ken Jay" Lacey (born June 10, 1966) is an American musician, best known as the original drummer for industrial metal band Static-X. Biography Jay was born in Vermilion County, Illinois. Jay began playing drums early on and had played drums in a couple of metal bands early in his career in central Illinois before heading north to Chicago. Jay was the drummer in Deep Blue Dream, a band that also included Wayne Static and had auditioned at one point for Smashing Pumpkins but was told by Billy Corgan he was "too metal" to be in the band. He co-founded Static-X with Wayne Static in 1994. Jay played drums on the band's first two albums, ''Wisconsin Death Trip (album), Wisconsin Death Trip'' and ''Machine (Static-X album), Machine'', but before Static-X could begin recording their third album, ''Shadow Zone (album), Shadow Zone'', he left the band because of musical and political differences. Vermilion County is a County (United States), county in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Illinois, between the Indiana border and Champaign County, Illinois, Champaign County. Koichi Fukuda
Koichi Fukuda (born July 1, 1975) is a Japanese musician, best known as the lead guitarist, programmer, and keyboardist for the metal band Static-X; he has been a member of the band three times, initially from 1994 to 2000, again from 2005 to 2010 and since 2018. He was also the former lead guitarist of the bands Drugstore Fanatics and Bellusira. Biography He was present on Static-X's debut album, '' Wisconsin Death Trip'', but left the band prior to the recording of their second album, '' Machine'', citing personal problems due to excessive touring. However, he did still contribute keyboards to the record. He rejoined Static-X after the firing of their then-current guitarist, Tripp Eisen, at the end of the recording process of the 2005 album ''Start a War'', and was present to record their fifth album, ''Cannibal''. Static-X is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1994. The line-up has fluctuated over the years, but was long-held constant with band founder, frontman, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Wayne Static until his death in 2014. The band was founded by Wayne Static and original drummer Ken Jay. They rose to fame with their 1999 debut album ''Wisconsin Death Trip'' where their heavy industrial metal sound attracted attention within the burgeoning nu metal movement of the late 1990s, with the album eventually going platinum in the United States. The band released five more albums over the course of the next decade: ''Machine'' in 2001, ''Shadow Zone'' in 2003, ''Start a War'' in 2005, ''Cannibal'' in 2007, and ''Cult of Static'' in 2009.
