Ken Guettler
Kenneth Adam Guettler (May 29, 1927 – December 25, 1977) was an American minor league baseball player once called "The minors' Babe Ruth" who hit over 330 home runs and was a star at that level. He is most well known for his 1956 campaign, when he hit 62 home runs for the Shreveport Sports. He won seven home run and five RBI titles. Guettler began his career in 1945 with the Kingsport Cherokees, leading the league with 13 home runs. In 1946, he played for the New Bern Bears, Burlington Bees and Charleston Rebels. In 1947, he hit .334 with 25 home runs and 103 RBI for the Griffin Pimientos, pacing the league in home runs and RBI. With the Montgomery Rebels and Gadsden Pilots in 1948, he led the league with 24 home runs. He played for the Des Moines Bruins in 1949. He hit 20 or more home runs for the third time in his career in 1950, hitting 22 between the Portsmouth Cubs and Des Moines. Texas League
The Texas League is a Minor League Baseball league which has operated in the South Central United States since 1902. It is classified as a Double-A league. Despite the league's name, only its five South Division teams are actually based in the state of Texas; the five North Division teams are located in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The league was founded in 1888 and ran through 1892. It was called the Texas Association in 1895, the Texas-Southern League in 1896, and again as the Texas League from 1897 to 1899. It was revived as a Class D league in 1902, moved to Class C in 1904 where it played through 1910 (except for 1906 as Class D again), played at Class B until 1920, and finally moved up to Class A in 1921. Charlotte Hornets (baseball)
The Charlotte Hornets were an American minor league baseball franchise based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The club was founded in 1901, and lasted in some form until 1973, capturing 11 league titles during its history. From 1937 to 1942 and 1946 to 1972, the Hornets were a farm system affiliate of the original Washington Senators franchise and its post-1960 successor, the Minnesota Twins. The Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (''Owls of the Two Laredos''), formerly known as the Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo (''Owls of Nuevo Laredo''), are a Minor League Baseball team based in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, and Laredo, Texas in the Mexican League. Monterrey Sultanes
The Sultanes de Monterrey ( en, Monterrey Sultans) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League based in Monterrey, Mexico. They compete in the Northern Division. The team also joined the Mexican Pacific League for the 2019–20 season following the conclusion of the Mexican League season, making them the only team to participate in both the summer and winter leagues in Mexico.
