Ken Goodman (politician)
Kenneth Leigh Goodman (born September 17, 1947) is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly. He represented the 66th district. Goodman resigned from the legislature in 2019 to accept an appointment from Gov. Roy Cooper to serve on the North Carolina Industrial Commission. During the 2016 legislative session, Goodman was one of 11 Democrats to vote in favor of HB2, the controversial "Bathroom Bill." Melanie Wade Goodwin (July 22, 1970 – September 1, 2020) was an American politician who served in the North Carolina House of Representatives from the 66th district as a member of the Democratic Party. She was the first member of the North Carolina General Assembly to give birth while in office. Scott Brewer is a former North Carolina District Court judge who also served as a North Carolina House of Representatives member. Roy Asberry Cooper III (born June 13, 1957) is an American attorney and politician, serving as the 75th governor of North Carolina since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 49th attorney general of North Carolina from 2001 to 2017.
