Ken Finkleman
Ken Finkleman (born 1946) is a Canadian television and film writer and producer, actor, and novelist. Biography Finkleman was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In Canada, Finkleman is best known as the writer, creator and producer of the CBC Television series '' The Newsroom'', in which he starred as television news producer George Findlay. He later produced a number of other series for Canadian television as well, including '' Married Life'', '' Foolish Heart'', '' Foreign Objects'', ''More Tears'', ''Good Dog'', and '' Good God''. Each of these series also included the linking character George Findlay (or the nearly identical character George Britton in the first series, ''Married Life''). ''At the Hotel'' is a Canadian drama-comedy-musical mini-series concerning the goings-on at an illustrious Montreal hotel, known for its favourable treatment of struggling artists. Created by Ken Finkleman and produced by One Hundred Percent Television, the series aired on CBC Television in 2006. The music is composed by Robert Carli. This is the only Ken Finkleman production in which he did not cast himself as a character. Finkleman's 45s
Finkleman's 45s was a Canadian radio show, which aired Saturday evenings from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. (half an hour later in Newfoundland) on CBC Radio One starting on October 5, 1985 and running until June 25, 2005. In the show Danny Finkleman played popular songs from the 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s, and talked about anything he felt like. For example, a regular component of the show was his advocation of a new business idea of his that he had observed a need for. Finkleman provided over 1,000 of his own unique business product and service ideas that he would rationalise and encourage listeners to adopt and develop as their own. Danny Finkleman
Danny Finkleman (born 1942) is a Canadian journalist and radio host, best known for his work on CBC Radio. He was host of '' Finkleman's 45s'' from 1985 until 2005, when he retired from CBC. From October 12, 2013, to July 1, 2014 he hosted a weekly podcast. Finkleman began working at CBC in 1967 after completing a degree in law at the University of Manitoba. He hosted a show called '' Danny Finkleman's Saturday Morning Show'' from 1972 to 1979. He also worked for '' This Country in the Morning'', preparing three seven-minute segments a week. He was probably best known for ''Finkleman's 45s''. The show played music from the 1950s, 60s, and early 70s and was noted for Danny's rants about the modern world, including topics such as modern music and computers.
