Ken (Street Fighter)
, originally spelled in kanji as with his original full name being unknown, is a fictional character in Capcom's ''Street Fighter'' series. Ken is the best friend and rival of Ryu, who has also appeared in all ''Street Fighter'' games. Ken's goal is to test his power against many different fighters, as he strives to become stronger. He uses improved Shoryuken (dragon punch) techniques. Ken's physical appearance and biographical traits were inspired by American martial artist Joe Lewis. ''Super Smash Bros.'' is a crossover fighting game series published by Nintendo. The series was created by Masahiro Sakurai, who has directed every game in the series. The series is known for its unique gameplay objective which differs from that of traditional fighters, in that the aim is to increase damage counters and knock opponents off the stage instead of depleting life bars. The original '' Super Smash Bros.'' was released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64. The series achieved even greater success with the release of '' Super Smash Bros. Melee'', which was released in 2001 for the GameCube and became the best selling game on that system. A third installment, ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'', was released in 2008 for the Wii.
