Kemptville 73's
The Kemptville 73's are a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey team based in Kemptville, Ontario. They play in the Central Canada Hockey League of the Ottawa District Hockey Association. History The team was founded in 1969 as the Kemptville Comets, changing their name in 1973 to coincide with that year. In the 1996–97 season, the 73's achieved an undefeated season with a win–loss–tie record of 38-0-4 en route to the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League championship. They repeated the championship victory in 1999. The team moved up from the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League to the Central Junior A Hockey League in 2007. On September 14, 2007, the Kemptville 73's played their first ever Junior "A" hockey game. At home, the 73's took on the Nepean Raiders but lost the game 5–2. Kemptville, Ontario
Kemptville is a community located in the Municipality of North Grenville in Eastern Ontario, Canada in the northernmost part of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. It is located approximately south of the downtown core of Ottawa and south of the Rideau River. The community can be accessed by Highway 416, also known as the Veterans Memorial Highway, which was completed in 1999, and from Leeds and Grenville Road 43 (formerly Highway 43). Kemptville is the largest community in North Grenville, with about 69% of North Grenville's population. Ben Hutton (born April 20, 1993) is a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing with the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Hutton was drafted 147th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Hutton played Junior ice hockey#Junior A, Junior A with the Kemptville 73's and Nepean Raiders of the Central Canada Hockey League before joining the college hockey ranks with the Maine Black Bears men's ice hockey, Maine Black Bears of the Hockey East league. The Carleton Place Canadians are a junior ice hockey team based in Carleton Place, Ontario Canada. The Canadians are members of the Central Canada Hockey League and Canadian Junior Hockey League, and as such are eligible for the Eastern Canadian Fred Page Cup championship and Royal Bank Cup National championship. History The Carleton Place Kings began play in 1969 in the Renfrew-Lanark Junior C Hockey League. Soon after, the league folded and the Kings ended up in the Rideau-St. Lawrence Junior B Hockey League in 1971. This league later became the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League. The Hawkesbury Hawks are a Junior "A" ice hockey team from Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada. They are a part of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). History The Hawks were formed by a group of local businessmen in March 1974. From 1974 until 1976 the Hawks were a part of the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League. After making the jump to the Central Junior A Hockey League in 1976, the Hawks found themselves in the basement of the league in their first season—although they quickly rose through the ranks in the seasons following. In 1979, the team won the CJHL Championship and moved on to the Centennial Cup where they lost the semi-finals to the Ontario Hockey Association's Guelph Platers—the eventual champion. Ronald Frederick Bradley Tugnutt (born October 22, 1967) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Tugnutt played several seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Quebec Nordiques, Edmonton Oilers, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Dallas Stars. While a member of the Nordiques on March 21, 1991, Tugnutt set a modern-day NHL record for most saves in a regular-season game when he stopped 70 of 73 shots in a 3–3 tie with the Boston Bruins. Calvin de Haan (born May 9, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL).
