Chad T. Kelsay (born April 9, 1977) is a former American football linebacker who played one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). Christopher Kelsay (born October 31, 1979) is a former American football defensive end who played for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL) for his entire professional career. He was drafted by the Bills in the second round (48th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft and was the sixth defensive end selected in the draft. He played collegiately at Nebraska. Early years He attended Auburn High School in Auburn, Nebraska He was an all-state defensive lineman as a senior after recording 142 tackles (69 solos), 14 sacks, 3 fumbles forced, and two fumble recoveries. John Kelsay is an author and a Research Professor and Richard L. Rubenstein Professor of Religion at Florida State University. He received his Ph.D. in 1985 in Ethics from University of Virginia. He mainly focuses on religious ethics, particularly in relation to the Islamic and Christian traditions. His research interests include comparative religious ethics, political ethics, and religion and war. Kelsay's 1993 book, ''Islam And War: A Study in Comparative Ethics'', discussed the Islamic concept of jihad as compared with the Christian concept of just war. His 2007 book, ''Arguing the Just War in Islam'', was praised by ''The New York Times'' for helping to bring greater understanding of Islamic views of war and peace to the non-Islamic world. John Kelsay (judge)
John Kelsay (October 23, 1819 – January 19, 1899) was an American politician and judge in Oregon. He was the 18th justice of the Oregon Supreme Court, and fought in the Rogue River Wars. A Kentucky native, he was a member of the 1857 Oregon Constitutional Convention and served in the Missouri General Assembly. Early life Kelsay was born to Alexander Kelsay and his wife Jane Kelley in the state of Kentucky in Wayne County on October 23, 1819.Corning, Howard M. ''Dictionary of Oregon History''. William Lloyd Kelsay (October 20, 1892 – April 26, 1952) was one of the top jockeys in American Thoroughbred racing during the 1920s who was widely respected for his ability to handle two-year-old horses during their first year of racing. Racing career highlights In 1917 Kelsay won the inaugural running of the Coffroth Handicap in Tijuana, a race run in February that became a major event for horsemen on the West Coast of the United States. The race would attract such star runners as Australia's superhorse Phar Lap and the popular future U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductees Seabiscuit and Round Table.
