Kelin Wang
Kelin Wang is a senior research scientist and has worked for the Geological Survey of Canada since 1992. His research encompasses geodynamics and natural hazards, with major contributions in researching slow-slip events along the Cascadia subduction interface. Academic career After pursuing his Bachelor's of Science degree in geology from Peking University in 1982, Wang continued his education by achieving his doctoral degree in geophysics from University of Western Ontario in 1989. Being a specialist in his field of work led him to becoming an adjunct professor at University of Victoria in 1999, where he currently teaches. Due to his accomplishments, he was named Honorary Research Professor at University of Victoria in 2017. Honors and awards Most of Wang's awards are fairly recent. He was awarded the J. Geological Survey Of Canada
The Geological Survey of Canada (GSC; french: Commission géologique du Canada (CGC)) is a Canadian federal government agency responsible for performing geological surveys of the country, developing Canada's natural resources and protecting the environment. A branch of the Earth Sciences Sector of Natural Resources Canada, the GSC is the country's oldest scientific agency and was one of its first government organizations. History In September 1841, the Province of Canada legislature passed a resolution that authorized the sum of £1,500 sterling be granted to the government for the estimated expense of performing a geological survey of the province.
