Kel Assouf
Kel Assouf is a Tuareg musical group making Tichumaren, "Tuareg rock" with Electronic music, electronic influences. The band's singer, songwriter, and guitarist is Anana Harouna. Kel Assouf, in Tamasheq, means "nostalgia" and "son of eternity". Career Anana Harouna was born in Niger and lived in Libya during the Tuareg rebellion (1990–1995), Tuareg rebellion of the early 1990s, like the band members of Tinariwen, with whom he has performed. He formed Kel Assouf while arriving in Brussels in 2006. Oliver Penu, who plays drums on the third album, ''Black Tenere'' (2019), is Belgian, and Sofyann Ben Youssef is a Tunisian who produced the albums ''Tikounen'' (2016) and ''Black Tenere''; he also plays keyboards to add bass lines, and occasionally plays frame drum in live performances. Their third album, ''Black Tenere'', released in 2019 employs drum lines from the Roland TR-808 and heavy guitar riffs. WOMAD
WOMAD ( ; World of Music, Arts and Dance) is an international arts festival. The central aim of WOMAD is to celebrate the world's many forms of music, arts and dance. History WOMAD was founded in 1980 by English rock musician Peter Gabriel, with Thomas Brooman, Bob Hooton, Mark Kidel, Stephen Pritchard, Martin Elbourne and Jonathan Arthur. Original designers were Steve Byrne and Valerie Hawthorn. The first WOMAD festival was in Shepton Mallet, UK in 1982. The audience saw Peter Gabriel, Don Cherry, The Beat, Drummers of Burundi, Echo & The Bunnymen, Imrat Khan, Prince Nico Mbarga, Peter Hammill, Simple Minds, Suns of Arqa, The Chieftains and Ekome National Dance Company, founded by Barrington, Angie, Pauline and Lorna Anderson, the pioneering African arts company in the UK amongst others performing. A desert is a barren area of landscape where little precipitation occurs and, consequently, living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life.
