Keith Rooney
Keith Rooney (born 13 February 1981) is a former Irish professional darts player who has played in Professional Darts Corporation events. Known as Titanium, Rooney qualified for the 2005 World Grand Prix, where he defeated James Wade in the first round, before losing to Dennis Priestley in the second round. He qualified for the 2013 UK Masters on the PDC European Tour, but lost his first round match to Andy Smith of England. He would win an Ireland Players Championship event in 2010, as well as the Northern Ireland Open in 2016. Duleek
Duleek (; ) is a small town in County Meath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Duleek takes its name from the Irish language, Irish word ''daimh liag'', meaning house of stones and referring to an early stone-built church, St Cianán's Church, the ruins of which are still visible in Duleek today. PDC European Tour
The PDC European Tour is a series of darts tournaments held across Europe organized by the Professional Darts Corporation. Starting in 2012 with five events, the number of events has steadily risen with eight held in 2013 and 2014, nine in 2015, ten in 2016, twelve in 2017, thirteen in both 2018 and 2019, and thirteen once more in 2020 (although that was reduced to four, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic), and only two events took place in 2021, with a return to thirteen events in 2022. These events see the top players on the PDC ProTour Order of Merit compete against players from six different regional qualifiers. Currently the prize fund for each tournament is £140,000, with £25,000 going to the winner. These events differ from others held on the Pro Tour as they are played on one board in front of an audience. They are not televised, but are streamed on the PDC's subscription service. Lewis “Lewy” Williams (born 18 January 2002 in Swansea) is a Welsh professional darts player who currently plays in the Professional Darts Corporation events. Born in Swansea, Williams moved to Liverpool, where he has trained as a barber. He qualified for the 2020 UK Open via the Riley's Qualifiers, and defeated Robert Owen, Adrian Gray and José de Sousa, before losing in a last leg decider in the last 64 to Steve West. Andy Smith (darts Player)
Andrew Smith (born 22 June 1967) is an English former professional darts player. He used the nickname The Pie Man for his matches. His best performances came in the "floor" events (non-televised tournaments with many boards being used simultaneously), where he won six PDC Pro Tour titles. Career A former England international, Smith won the England, Welsh and Norway Opens in his early career, as well as qualifying for the British Darts Organisation version of the world championship on four occasions (losing in the first round each time), before switching from the BDO to the PDC. His wins in the Scottish and South-West Regional Finals for the 2005 UK Open saw him enter the televised finals as number one seed, and he later qualified for the Las Vegas Desert Classic. The 2013 UK Masters was the first of eight PDC European Tour events on the 2013 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Butlin's Minehead in Minehead, England, from 8–10 March 2013. It featured a field of 64 players and £100,000 in prize money, with £20,000 going to the winner. Dennis Priestley
Dennis Priestley (born 16 July 1950) is an English former professional darts player. He has won two world championships, and was the first player to win both the BDO and WDC (now PDC) world championships, in 1991 and 1994 respectively. He is nicknamed "The Menace", after the cartoon character Dennis the Menace, and reflects this by wearing red and black, and using red and black flights. Early career Born in Mexborough, West Riding of Yorkshire, Priestley was originally a coal merchant by trade, and did not enter professional darts until he was almost 40 years old. James Wade
James Martin Wade (born 6 April 1983) is an English professional darts player, currently playing in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He became the youngest player to win a major PDC title, when he won the 2007 World Matchplay at the age of 24. This record has since been broken by Michael van Gerwen. Wade has won eleven PDC majors, third in the all-time list behind Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen. He is widely considered one of the best left handed darts players of all time.
