Keith Peacock
Keith Peacock (born 2 May 1945, in Barnehurst) is an English former footballer and manager. He was the first player to come on as a substitute in the Football League. Early life He was educated at Erith Grammar School, now named Erith School. Playing career Peacock played his entire professional career for Charlton Athletic, making over 500 Football League appearances between 1962 and 1979. In May 1963 he scored in the 2-1 last day of season victory at Walsall that kept Charlton in the second tier and relegated Walsall. On 21 August 1965, he became the first substitute used in the Football League when he replaced injured goalkeeper Mick Rose after 11 minutes of an away match against Bolton Wanderers. He played for the Columbus Magic of the ASL before joining his old friend Gordon Jago as his assistant manager and player at the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the North American Soccer League until 1982. Barnehurst
Barnehurst is a town and electoral ward in South East London within the London Borough of Bexley. It lies north east of Bexleyheath, and 13.0 miles (20 km) east south-east of Charing Cross. Charlton Athletic Football Club is an English professional football club based in Charlton, south-east London, which compete in . Gavin Peacock
Gavin Keith Peacock (born 18 November 1967) is an English former professional footballer and sports television pundit. As a player he was midfielder and striker from 1984 until 2002, notably playing in the Premier League for Newcastle United and Chelsea. He also played in the Football League for Queens Park Rangers, Gillingham, AFC Bournemouth and Charlton Athletic. He then worked in the media as a pundit, notably for BBC Sport, before in September 2008 he relocated to Canada to study theology with a view to becoming a Christian minister. Philip John Parkinson (born 1 December 1967) is an English professional football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. He is currently manager of National League side Wrexham. Parkinson is the only manager to take an English fourth-tier league club to the final of a major cup competition at Wembley Stadium, leading Bradford City of League Two to the 2013 League Cup final. Alan Pardew
Alan Scott Pardew (born 18 July 1961) is an English football manager and former professional footballer, who is the current manager of Greek Super League club Aris. Pardew's highest achievements in the sport include reaching the FA Cup Final three times: as a player with Crystal Palace in 1990 and as a manager with West Ham United in 2006 and in 2016 when his Crystal Palace side lost to Manchester United. Llewellyn Charles "Alan" Curbishley (born 8 November 1957) is an English former football player and manager. He played as a midfielder for West Ham United, Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion and has worked in the Premier League in management roles at Charlton Athletic and West Ham United. 1980–81 NASL Indoor Season
The 1980–81 season was the North American Soccer League (1968–1984), North American Soccer League's second indoor soccer season. Overview A total of 19 of a possible 21 NASL teams participated. New York Cosmos (1970–1985), New York and Montreal Manic, Montreal (who was moving from Philadelphia) were the only hold-outs this indoor season. Just as the season was getting underway, the Jacksonville Tea Men relocated from New England. Teams played an 18-game regular season. The four Canadian teams were realigned into one division and forced to play only one another during the regular season. This was due to early season litigation which restricted NASL teams' travel between the U.S. and Canada. The Edmonton Drillers (1979–82), Edmonton Drillers won the championship in a two-game finals-sweep of the Chicago Sting. This was the Drillers' first, and only, NASL indoor title. Tampa Bay Rowdies (1975–1993)
The Tampa Bay Rowdies were an American professional soccer team based in Tampa, Florida, that competed in the original North American Soccer League (NASL) from 1975 to 1984. They enjoyed broad popular support in the Tampa Bay area until the NASL folded in 1984, after which the team played in various minor indoor and outdoor leagues before finally folding on January 31, 1994. The Rowdies played nearly all of their outdoor home games at Tampa Stadium and nearly all of their indoor games at the Bayfront Center Arena in nearby St. Petersburg, Florida. Although San Diego played indoors until 1996, the Rowdies were the last surviving NASL franchise that played outdoor soccer on a regular basis.
