Keith Laws
Keith R. Laws is a professor of neuropsychology at the School of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire. Professor Laws' research centres on how cognitive functions and processes relate to brain structure and function; notably for research on cognitive functioning in people suffering from neurological and psychiatric disorders. Laws, with his colleagues, created one of the first research groups to investigate impairment of everyday knowledge in patients with schizophrenia and to demonstrate worse cognitive outcomes in women suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Laws' work on the link between MDMA (also known as ecstasy) drug use and poor memory is the principal analysis of its kind to date, and has been broadly cited in both national and international media. Neuropsychology is a branch of psychology concerned with how a person's cognition and behavior are related to the brain and the rest of the nervous system. Professionals in this branch of psychology often focus on how injuries or illnesses of the brain affect cognitive and behavioral functions. Some Bizzare Records was a British independent record label owned by Stevo Pearce. The label was founded in 1981, with the release of ''Some Bizzare Album'', a compilation of unsigned bands including Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, the The, Neu Electrikk and Blancmange. History 1981–1989 One of the first bands that Some Bizzare worked with was B-Movie. After working with B-Movie the label achieved notable success with Soft Cell, an electronic duo whose ''Mutant Moments'' EP Stevo Pearce had championed in ''Sounds''. Scritti Politti are a British band, originally formed in 1977 in Leeds, England, by Welsh singer-songwriter Green Gartside. He is the only member of the band to have remained throughout the group's history. The Birthday Party (originally known as The Boys Next Door) were an Australian post-punk band, active from 1977 to 1983. This Heat were an English experimental rock band, formed in early 1976 in Camberwell, London by multi-instrumentalists Charles Bullen (guitar, clarinet, viola, vocals, tapes), Charles Hayward (drums, keyboards, vocals, tapes) and Gareth Williams (keyboard, guitar, bass, vocals, tapes). This Heat were active in the ascendancy of British punk, but stood apart from that scene due to an experimental and confrontational approach. Peter Ashworth is an English photographer. Ashworth initially specialized in music photography, between 1979 and 2000.
