Keith Carter (basketball)
Joseph Keith Carter (born October 17, 1976) is an American college athletics administrator, currently the Athletic Director for the Ole Miss Rebels of the Southeastern Conference. Carter played professional basketball for nine seasons, primarily in Italy. Carter came to Ole Miss from Perryville High School in Perryville, Arkansas. He was a four-year starter for the Rebels from 1995 to 1999, earning second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors as a junior and first-team as a senior. Carter was also named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press in 1999. For his college career, Carter scored 1,682 points. Following his college career, Carter played professionally in several American leagues before settling into a successful career in Italy. Keith Richard Carter is an American football coach and former tight end who is the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). Playing career At Downingtown High School, Carter was a three-year starter as a tight end and defensive end. He was recruited to play tight end by Gary Bernardi at UCLA. After redshirting his first year, Carter was awarded the Charles Pike Memorial Award for his help with the scout team. In 2002, Carter played in nine games, starting three of them. He also took snaps that season as a blocking running back. In April 2003, Carter plowed into the back of a car on his motorcycle, ending his playing career. Keith Carter is a Liverpool-based comedian, writer, and actor, best known for his comic creation Nige, a caricature of a scallie from Merseyside cited by Sir Jeremy Isaacs as being instrumental in helping Liverpool's successful 2007 Capital of Culture bid. Carter has been described as "not just a stand-up with a dressing-up box, he makes his characters live by his bearing, his gestures and by his voice". Career Carter began his career as a comedian in clubs in Liverpool in 2001. Keith Carter (June 3, 1948, Madison, Wisconsin) is an American photographer, educator, and artist noted for his dreamlike photos of people, animals and objects. Early life and education At the age of three, Keith Carter's family moved to Beaumont, Texas where, soon after arriving, his father left and his mother worked as a professional photographer of children. Carter earning a degree in business administration from Lamar University in Beaumont. Photography career In 1970, Carter began working on personal photographs as well as commercial photography. A month long trip in 1973 to New York's Museum of Modern Art to study their permanent collection three days each week heightened an already intense interest in the art of photography. Keith Eyre Carter (August 30, 1924 – May 3, 2013) was an American competition swimmer, a six time All American, an Olympic silver medalist and world record holder in the 200 yard breaststroke (long course). Carter was an unusually gifted swimmer in both free style and breaststroke events. At the 1948 Olympic trials, he was second behind Wally Ris in the 100 m freestyle, and second behind Joe Verdeur in the 200 m breaststroke. Carter tried out for the 4 X 200 m freestyle relay and was one of several swimmers who had already qualified in other events who slowed down in their heats or swam fast in the prelims and scratched themselves for the final to allow more swimmers to qualify for the US Olympic Team. At the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, Carter received a silver medal in the 200 m breaststroke in a three man American sweep of the event behind Joe Verdeur the gold medalist and ahead of Robert Sohl the bronze medalist.
