Keilor Fire Station
Keilor Fire Station is the first in a series of three fire stations in suburban Melbourne, Victoria designed by Edmond and Corrigan. It is located in Milleara Road, Keilor East. Founded in the late 1970s, Edmond and Corrigan are widely recognised for their involvement in post-modern architecture focusing on Australian cultural factors. Their designs draw on different aspects that contribute to and shape society itself such as poetry, theatre, literature, dance and art combining particular influences to achieve a final architectural outcome. Peter Corrigan once said, "Buildings are informed by ideas… with generosity, intelligence and ambition". Keilor East is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Cities of Brimbank and Moonee Valley local government areas. Keilor East recorded a population of 15,078 at the 2021 census. Keilor East is bounded in the west by the Maribyrnong River in the City of Brimbank, in the north by the Calder Freeway, in the east by Hoffmans Road, and in the south by Buckley Street, Steele Creek and Rosehill Road. Metropolitan Fire Brigade (Melbourne)
The Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB), also known as the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board, was a fire service in Victoria, Australia. The MFB provided firefighting, rescue, medical and hazardous material incident response services to the metropolitan area of Melbourne.
