Kefalos
Kefalos (Κέφαλος) is the westernmost town on the Greek island of Kos, 43 km from Kos Town. It is situated on a peninsula, also known as Kefalos, at the south-west side of the island. The town is built on a stone height, dominated by the imposing windmill of Papavasilis and is home to 2,156 inhabitants (2011 census). Neighbouring settlements, administration and facilities Beneath the old town of Kefalos is the Bay of Kamari, where the beach resorts of Kamari, Kampos and Onia follow the curve of the bay for approximately 2 kilometres. The name Kefalos is often used for this area as well. Bay Of Kamari
Kamari Bay is situated at the southwestern end of the Greek island of Kos. It is a popular tourist destination. The bay is overlooked by the ancient cliff-top village of Kefalos (Greek: Κέφαλος) and is often referred to as Kefalos Bay or Kefalos Beach. The village of Kefalos (sometimes spelled Kephalos) was once the island's capital, but after a devastating earthquake around 400 BC, a new capital was established at the town of Kos, on the other end of the island. Irakleides
Irakleides ( el, Ηρακλείδες) is a former municipality on the island of Kos, in the Dodecanese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kos, of which it is a municipal unit. Population 6,826 (2011). It is the largest in area of the three municipal units on the island, at 160.538 km², and comprises 55.3% of the island's territory. The seat of the municipality was in Antimacheia (pop. 2,205). The largest village is Kefalos (2,156). Kardamaina (1,650), Mastichari (470), Kampos (228), Onia (100), and Kamarion (154) are the other villages in the municipal unit. Kardamaina
Kardámaina or Kardámena ( el, Καρδάμαινα), is a small Greek town 7 km from Kos Island International Airport at Antimacheia, situated mid-way along the south coast of the island of Kos. It lies in the municipal unit of Irakleides, in the Dodecanese. Once a small fishing village, it has been a popular summer destination for the past two decades, offering pubs, restaurants, bars, night clubs and watersports facilities. According to the 2011 census, there were 1,650 inhabitants census and a land area of 35.150 km². Between June and September the town population triples due to the influx of tourists.
