Austin Roberts (singer)
Austin Roberts (born George Austin Robertson Jr.; September 19, 1945) is an American singer and songwriter. His most successful recording was 1975's "Rocky"; a transatlantic Top 40 hit single. He also wrote several songs that featured in episodes of Scooby-Doo Where Are You! and performed the theme for season 2 of the show. Career Roberts was born on September 19, 1945 in Newport News, Virginia. As the lead singer of Arkade, he had two ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hits in 1970-71, including the easy listening crossover, "The Morning of Our Lives", which became the ''Bridal Fair'' theme, later a Top 15 Adult Contemporary hit, and "Sing Out the Love (In My Heart)", which reached No. 99 on the Hot 100. The Wynners
The Wynners are a Hong Kong pop band formed in the 1970s. The group consists of Alan Tam (lead vocals), Kenny Bee (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards), Bennett Pang (lead guitar), Danny Yip (bass), and Anthony Chan (drums). History Beginning as a Hong Kong English pop band, The Wynners were assembled by manager Pato Leung in 1973 out of an earlier incarnation of the group, ''the Loosers''. Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart was a supergroup, consisting of songwriting/performing duo Boyce and Hart and two members of the Monkees, Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones. Boyce and Hart had written many of the Monkees' biggest hits, such as "Last Train to Clarksville" and "(Theme From) The Monkees". The group existed only for a short time in 1976, recording one eponymous album. Aileen Quinn released ''Bobby's Girl'' in 1982 six months after her debut film ''Annie'' was released in theaters. The titular song of the album is a cover of the Marcie Blane song, "Bobby's Girl", also covered with success in the United Kingdom by Susan Maughan. ''This Time I Almost Made It'' is the third solo studio album released by American country singer, Barbara Mandrell, released in 1974. This would be Mandrell's last album with record company Columbia before the label dropped her. She would later switch to ABC/Dot and enjoy the most successful part of her career under the record company. This album spawned two singles that charted on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The first single, the title track peaked at #12. The second single, "Wonder When My Baby's Coming Home" barely cracked the Top 40, peaking at only #39. Kenny Rogers and the First Edition, until 1970 billed as The First Edition, were an American rock band. The band's style was difficult to singularly classify, as it incorporated elements of country, rock and psychedelic pop. Its stalwart members were Kenny Rogers (lead vocals and bass guitar), Mickey Jones (drums and percussion) and Terry Williams (guitar and vocals). The band formed in 1967, with folk musician Mike Settle (guitar and backing vocals) and the operatically-trained Thelma Camacho (lead vocals) completing the lineup.
