Keep It In The Family (American Game Show)
''Keep It in the Family'' is an American television game show hosted by Bill Nimmo (Keefe Brasselle hosted the pilot) and announced by Johnny Olson which ran on ABC from October 12, 1957, to February 8, 1958. The series was created by Leonard Stern and Roger Price and was produced by Frank Cooper Productions. It was replaced by ''Dick Clark's Beechnut Show'', which ran until 1960. Gameplay A sort of forerunner of '' Family Feud'', the game involved two five-member teams of families, each starting the game with 200 points. In each round, the teams were shown a prize, after which they were given a category and then alternated bidding for control. The difficulty of the question also increased with the amount of the bid. Bidding was played as an auction until one team either challenged their opponents or bid the 100 point maximum. Lost television broadcasts are mostly those early television programs which cannot be accounted for in studio archives (or in personal archives) usually because of deliberate destruction or neglect. Common reasons for loss A significant proportion of early television programming was never recorded in the first place. Early broadcasting in all genres was live and sometimes performed repeatedly. Due to there being no means to record the broadcast or, later, because the content itself was thought to have little monetary or historical value it was not deemed necessary to save it. ''Last of the Summer Wine'' is a British sitcom created and written by Roy Clarke and originally broadcast by the BBC from 1973 to 2010. Bill Owen (actor)
William John Owen Rowbotham, (14 March 1914 – 12 July 1999) was an English actor and songwriter. He was the father of actor Tom Owen. He is best known for portraying Compo Simmonite in the Yorkshire-based BBC comedy series ''Last of the Summer Wine'' for over a quarter of a century. He died on 12 July 1999, his last appearance on-screen being shown in April 2000.
