Keely Hodgkinson
Keely Nicole Hodgkinson (born 3 March 2002) is an English athlete specialising in the 800 metres. At the age of 19, she won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, breaking the British record set by Kelly Holmes in 1995. She is the 2022 World Championships and 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medallist, 2022 European champion, and a two-time European indoor champion from 2021 and 2023, with her 2021 title secured as the youngest ever European women's indoor 800 m winner. Both Hodgkinson's Tokyo result and her junior indoor mark are European U20 records, making her at 800 m the fourth-fastest and the second-fastest under-20 woman of all time respectively. In 2021, she became the Diamond League champion. In February 2022, she set a British 800 m indoor record (improved in 2023), placing her sixth on the respective world all-time list. 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships will be held from 2 to 5 March 2023 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul, Turkey, the first time the event has taken place in this country although the venue did stage the 2012 World Indoor Championships. The four-day competition will be held during the centenary year of the Republic of Turkey, and will feature 13 men's and 13 women's athletics events over three morning and four afternoon sessions. World Athletics Championships
The World Athletics Championships (until 2019 known as the World Championships in Athletics) are a biennial athletics competition organized by World Athletics (formerly IAAF, International Association of Athletics Federations). Alongside the Olympic Games, they represent the highest level championships of senior international outdoor athletics competition for track and field athletics globally, including marathon running and race walking. Separate World Championships are held by World Athletics for certain other outdoor events, including cross-country running and half-marathon, as well as indoor and age-group championships. European Athletics U18 Championships
The European Athletics U18 Championships (named as European Athletics Youth Championships in 2016) are a biennial athletics competition for European athletes under the age of eighteen ( youth category). The creation of the competition stemmed from the 2013 European Athletics Congress. The event was created to promote the sport among young people in Europe. Each country may send a maximum of two athletes per event. The European U18 Championships will be the third age category championships organised by the European Athletic Association, following on from the long-running European Athletics U20 Championships (first held in 1970) and the European Athletics U23 Championships (first held in 1997). 2019 European Athletics U20 Championships
The 2019 European Athletics U20 Championships were the 25th edition of the biennial European U20 athletics championships. They were held in Borås, Sweden from 18 July to 21 July. Beginning with this edition the long-distance races for men were 3000 and 5000 metres instead of 5000 and 10,000 metres mirroring the women's programme. The 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held from 4 to 7 March 2021 at the Arena Toruń in Toruń, Poland. European Athletics Championships
The European Athletics Championships is a biennial (from 2010) athletics event organised by the European Athletics Association and is recognised as the elite continental outdoor athletics championships for Europe. Editions First held, for men only, in 1934 in Turin, and separately for women for the first time in Vienna in 1938, the Championships took place every four years following the end of the World War II, with the exception of the 1969 and 1971 editions, becoming a joint men's and women's competition from the third edition in 1946 in Oslo.
