Keegan Theatre
The Keegan Theatre is an American professional theater based in Washington, D.C., that produces a mix of classics, musicals, and new works, including world premiere productions. It owns and operates a 120-seat theater in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, which it purchased and renovated in 2013. It is led by founding director Mark Rhea and artistic director Susan Marie Rhea. Megan Machnik is executive chair of the theater's board of directors. Keegan has been described as "eclectic" and as one of Washington, D.C.'s "most popular small heatercompanies." From its early focus on Irish plays and playwrights, it has broadened its repertoire to include musicals and contemporary American and British works. Dupont Circle (or DuPont Circle) is a traffic circle, park, neighborhood and historic district in Northwest Washington, D.C. The Dupont Circle neighborhood is bounded approximately by 16th Street NW to the east, 22nd Street NW to the west, M Street NW to the south, and Florida Avenue NW to the north. Much of the neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. However, the local government Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC 2B) and the Dupont Circle Historic District have slightly different boundaries. Marsha Norman (born September 21, 1947) is an American playwright, screenwriter, and novelist. She received the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her play '' 'night, Mother''. David Lindsay-Abaire ( Abaire; born November 14, 1969) is an American playwright, lyricist and screenwriter. He received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2007 for his play '' Rabbit Hole'', which also earned several Tony Award nominations. The Reluctant Dragon (short Story)
"The Reluctant Dragon" is an 1898 children's story by Kenneth Grahame, originally published as a chapter in his book '' Dream Days''. It is Grahame's most famous short story, arguably better known than ''Dream Days'' itself or the related 1895 collection '' The Golden Age''. It can be seen as a prototype to most modern stories in which the dragon is a sympathetic character rather than a threat. Plot The story takes place in the Berkshire Downs in Oxfordshire (where the author lived and where, according to legend, St. George did fight a dragon).
