Gary E. Keck is an American chemist. Biography Education Gary Keck received a BS from Bowling Green State University in 1971, a PhD from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1975 (studying with Howard E. Zimmerman) and was a postdoctoral with E. J. Corey at Harvard University from 1975-1977. Career Keck spent his academic career in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Utah. His research group pioneered the use of transient acylnitroso compounds for alkaloid synthesis, macrolactonization methods, and the use of allylic stannanes for the stereocontrolled synthesis of polyketide chains. Throughout his career, he pursued the total synthesis of complex natural products, culminating in his work on bryostatins. Keck named several compounds after Merle Haggard. Tara Keck (born November 26, 1978, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina) is an American-British neuroscientist and Professor of Neuroscience and Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow, at University College London working in the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology, and Pharmacology. James Stanton Keck (September 11, 1897 – January 20, 1951) was an American football player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He attended The Kiski School and went on to play college football at Princeton University as a tackle and guard. Keck was selected as an All-American in 1920 and in 1921. Keck served as the head football coach at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont from 1942 to 1946 and Waynesburg College—now known as Waynesburg University—in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania from 1947 to 1950, compiling a career college football coaching record of 23–26–4. His writing appears to be largely autobiographical, though in recent publications he has asserted that the character called "Kevin Keck" is in fact merely a fictional persona. Jeremiah Keck (November 9, 1845 – July 31, 1930) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. Life He was born on November 9, 1845, in Johnstown, Fulton County, New York, the son of Isaac Keck (born 1814) and Eliza Ann (Burns) Keck (1818–1857). He attended the public schools and worked on the family farm. During the American Civil War, he enlisted in the 77th New York Volunteer Infantry on February 24, 1862; mustered in as a private on April 21; and was discharged for disability on December 26, 1862, at Baltimore, Maryland. After his discharge, he attended Clinton Liberal Institute and Whitestown Seminary. Then he studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1869, and practiced in Johnstown.
