Douglas Kearney (born 1974) is an American poet, performer and librettist. Kearney grew up in Altadena, California. His work has appeared in ''Nocturnes'', ''Jubilat'', ''Beloit Poetry Journal'', ''Gulf Coast'', ''Poetry'', ''Pleiades'', ''Iowa Review'', ''Callaloo'', ''Boston Review'', ''Hyperallergic'', ''Scapegoat'', ''Obsidian'', ''Boundary 2'', ''Jacket2'', ''Lana Turner'', ''Brooklyn Rail'', and ''Indiana Review''.'' Hugh Kearney
Hugh Francis Kearney (22 January 1924 – 1 October 2017) was a British historian, and Amundson Professor Emeritus of the University of Pittsburgh. He was the author of several articles on early modern economic history, a biography on Thomas Wentworth, 1st Earl of Strafford, and the acclaimed book ''British Isles: A History of Four Nations'', which advocated a multi-national "Britannic" approach, rather than an Anglo-centric approach to their history, historiography and sociology. Career Born in Liverpool, Kearney read History at Peterhouse, Cambridge in the 1940s. He met his wife while teaching at University College Dublin where she was an undergraduate. Hannah Angela Kearney (born February 26, 1986) is an American mogul skier who won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Personal life Kearney was born in Norwich, Vermont to Jill (née Gass) and Tom Kearney. They met while attending McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She grew up and still lives in Norwich, Vermont. Augustus Daniel Kearney (22 November 1870 – 10 March 1907) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL), and was a part of the Bombers' 1897 premiership team. Football Kearney came from Geelong College and played in three of the Essendon Association's premierships between 1892 and 1894. Garnet Kearney
Dr. Garnet Harvey Kearney, (1884–1971) was a Canadian medical doctor, teacher, and pioneer. He practiced medicine in the North Peace region from 1935 until the early 1960s. Born in Renfrew, Ontario, he received his Ph.D. in medicine from McGill University. During World War I, Kearney served as a ship's medical doctor for various freighters and troop convoys. Later in the war, he became a front-line first-aid medic until the end of the war. He married Marjorie Van Volkingburgh in 1944, and she died in 1954. Kearney arrived in Fort St. John, British Columbia in 1935, replacing a Dr. Brown, the first medical doctor in Fort St. John. He served as the town's only medical doctor for some time. Fred Kearney
Fred Kearney (May 19, 1897 – November 6, 1998) was a Canadian ice hockey player. Born in Pembroke, Ontario, on May 19, 1897, Kearney moved to Fort William in 1909. He began playing amateur hockey in Fort William amateur ranks beginning in 1913. Kearney was a member of the Lakehead Intermediate Hockey Team which won the 1924 Thunder Bay Intermediate League. The team then played for the Scotland Woollen Mills trophy. In 1927 Kearney played goal the Fort William senior hockey team winning the Western Canadian Senior Hockey Championships. The team then faced the Toronto Grads in the Allan Cup finals in Vancouver. Fort William's "Thundering Herd were part of the most memorable finals in the history of the competition."
