''Kean'' is a 1940 Italian historical drama film directed by Guido Brignone and starring Rossano Brazzi, Germana Paolieri. and Sandro Salvini.Moliterno p.51 It is based on the 1836 play ''Kean'' by Alexandre Dumas portraying the life of the English actor Edmund Kean. The film's sets were designed by the art director Alfredo Manzi. It was shot at the Scalera Studios in Rome. Guido Brignone
Guido Brignone (6 December 1886 – 6 March 1959) was an Italian film director and actor. He was the father of actress Lilla Brignone and younger brother of actress Mercedes Brignone. Brignone was born in Milan, Italy. He was the first Italian Director to win the Venice Film Festival or Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica, the oldest film festival in the world, with Best Italian Film, ''Teresa Confalonieri'' (1934). He died in Rome in 1959. Liana Del Balzo
Liana Del Balzo (4 March 1899 – 26 March 1982) was an Italian film actress. She appeared in 90 films between 1935 and 1979. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and died in Rome, Italy. Even making her film debut quite late, in her forty, Del Balzo was one of the most active character actresses in the Italian cinema, usually cast in humorous roles. She was also active on stage and in the operetta, in which she met her husband-to-be, the tenor Guido Agnoletti. Giulio Battiferri
Giulio Battiferri (15 July 1893 – 22 January 1973) was an Italian actor. He appeared in more than one hundred films from 1939 to 1972. He was married to the actress Pina Piovani. Life and career Born in Rome, Battiferri started his career on stage in 1913, working alongside his wife Pina Piovani in the Romanesco dialect stage company Compagnia Romanesca directed by .
