KAZZ (1400 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a sports format. Licensed to Parowan, Utah, United States, the station is currently owned by M. Kent Frandsen, through licensee Canyon Media Group, Inc. Translator KAZZ serves the Cedar City - St. George, Utah radio market and rebroadcasts on FM translator station K226CM 93.1 MHz, licensed to Cedar City, Utah. History The station began broadcasting in October 2004, carrying the adult standards format of Dial Global Networks and CNN Radio News from Westwood One. The call sign KENT was assigned in May 2004 On May 29, 2009, the Fifth District Court of Utah in Washington County, UT appointed a receiver to take over KENT for US Capital, Incorporated of Boulder CO, an investment group that foreclosed on Legacy Media, the owners of KENT and several other stations. Sugar City, Idaho
Sugar City is a city in Madison County, Idaho, United States. The population was 1,715 at the 2020 census, up from 1,514 in 2010. It is part of the Rexburg Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Sugar City was a company town for the Fremont County Sugar Company, which was part of the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company, supporting a sugar beet processing factory built in 1903–1904. Since it was created to support the factory, construction workers and early factory families were housed in tents, leading to the nickname "Rag Town". By 1904, the town consisted of 35 houses, two stores, a hotel, an opera house, several boarding houses, two lumber yards, a meat market, and a schoolhouse. The first Mormon ward was the Sugar City Ward, with Bishop Mark Austin. One of his counselors was James Malone, a construction engineer for E. H. Dyer, who was not a Mormon. KPKL (107.1 FM) is a radio station licensed to Deer Park, Washington, and serving the Spokane metropolitan area. The station airs an oldies radio format. The broadcast license is held by Robert Anthony and Patricia Fogal, through licensee Spokane Broadcasting Company, LLC. Rob Harder is the CEO. KPKL's studios and offices are on East Greenbush Avenue in Colbert, Washington. The transmitter is in Loon Lake, Washington, of U.S. Route 395. KPKL also operates a booster station in Spokane, 5,000 watt KPKL-FM-1, transmitting from the top of an apartment building on South Westcliff Place.
