Kazym
The Kazym (russian: Казы́м) is a river in Beloyarsky District, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Russia. It is long, with a drainage basin of . Its average discharge is . The town of Beloyarsky is along the Kazym. Course The Kazym is a right tributary of the Ob. Its sources are in the Siberian Uvaly. It flows through the northern part of the West Siberian Plain meandering across a very swampy valley. There are numerous lakes in its basin, including the relatively large Sorum-Lor and the Saran-Kho-Lor. The Kazym river is fed mainly by snow. It freezes in early November and begins to thaw in late May. Ob (river)
} The Ob ( rus, Обь, p=opʲ: Ob') is a major river in Russia. It is in western Siberia; and together with Irtysh forms the world's seventh-longest river system, at . It forms at the confluence of the Biya and Katun which have their origins in the Altai Mountains. It is the westernmost of the three great Siberian rivers that flow into the Arctic Ocean (the other two being the Yenisei and the Lena). Its flow is north-westward, then northward. Siberian Uvaly
Siberian Uvaly (russian: Сибирские Увалы) is a hilly region in the central part of the West Siberian Plain, Russia. A sector of the hills is a protected area under the name Upper Taz Nature Reserve, which was established in December 1986. The area is sparsely populated. Only a few settlements, such as Beloyarsky town, are located in the Siberian Uvaly. Geography The hilly area falls within the Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs of Tyumen Oblast. It extends roughly from west to east between the Ob and the basin of the Yeloguy river, a tributary of the Yenisei. The Central Ob Lowland (Средне-Обская низменность) stretches to the south and the Nadym and Taz lowlands to the north. West Siberian Plain
The West Siberian Plain (russian: За́падно-Сиби́рская равни́на ''Zapadno-Sibirskaya ravnina'') is a large plain that occupies the western portion of Siberia, between the Ural Mountains in the west and the Yenisei River in the east, and by the Altai Mountains on the southeast. Much of the plain is poorly drained and consists of some of the world's largest swamps and floodplains. Important cities include Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, and Tomsk, as well as Surgut and Nizhnevartovsk. Winters on the West Siberian Plain are harsh and long. The climate of most of the plain areas is either subarctic or continental. The plain had large petroleum and natural gas reserves.
