Kazhakuttam railway station (Code:KZK) is one of the 5 railway stations serving the Indian city of Trivandrum, capital of the state, Kerala. It lies on Kollam–Thiruvananthapuram rail line. Kazhakuttam is currently the 4th most revenue generating railway station in Trivandrum district. Nagercoil Junction Railway Station
Nagercoil Junction railway station (station code: NCJ) is a railway junction in Kanyakumari district in the state of Tamil Nadu. Background Trivandrum–Nagercoil–Kanniyakumari and Tirunelveli–Nagercoil construction projects were inaugurated by the then Prime minister Mrs.Indira Gandhi on 6 September 1972. The Trivandrum–Nagercoil–Kanniyakumari line was opened on 15 April 1979. Nagercoil Junction became operational on 15 April 1979. The rail-link to Kanniyakumari was established only in 1979, mainly because establishing a rail line through the district posed some challenges for the rail department and took a lot of efforts, especially the western line. The 16525 /16526 Island Express is an Indian Railways train running between Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bangalore City railway station, Bangalore and Kanyakumari railway station, Kanyakumari. Train no. 16526 runs from Bengaluru to Kanyakumari, and Train No. 16525 runs in the reverse direction. Vanchinad Express is an intercity express train running between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam in the state of Kerala, India. It is operated by the Thiruvananthapuram division of the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. Etymology Vanchinad was one of the names of the old princely state of Travancore, which actually had the shape of a ship. The train runs along most of what was once Travancore, and hence the train has been given this name.
