Kaye Cal
Karen Jade Cal (born February 11, 1989), professionally known as Kaye Cal, is a Filipino singer-songwriter who rose to popularity after becoming a grand finalist of the first season of the talent competition ''Pilipinas Got Talent'', in which she competed in as the lead singer of Ezra Band. She has since been performing as a solo artist and has released several singles. Early life Karen Jade Cal was born on February 11, 1989 in Davao del Sur, Philippines, to Christian parents. Career Kaye Cal met her future Ezra Band bandmates in her hometown, Davao del Sur. The group eventually competed in the first season of ''Pilipinas Got Talent'', where they became grand finalists. The covers the group performed on the show were released in the ''Pinoy You Got It'' album, which is a compilation of songs from the contestants on the show. ''Tonight with Boy Abunda'' (also known as TWBA) is a Philippine late-night talk show broadcast by ABS-CBN, hosted by Boy Abunda. The program premiered on September 28, 2015, and airs every weeknights from 10:55PM to 11:10PM on the network's ''Primetime Bida'' evening block. It also airs worldwide via TFC. It serves as a transitional show after Kris Aquino's departure from their previous show ''Aquino & Abunda Tonight'' citing schedule conflicts, political reality and health reasons. The New Frontier Theater, known as the Kia Theatre between 2015 and 2018, is a multi-purpose events hall in the Araneta City in Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The theater has a 2,385 seating capacity and is used for a variety of events, ranging from performing and visual arts, local and international concerts, and fan meet-up gatherings. Himig Handog (Eng: A Musical Offering) is a multimedia songwriting and music video competition in the Philippines based in Quezon City. The competition is operated by ABS-CBN Corporation and the media conglomerate's music subsidiary Star Music. The contest ran from 2000 to 2003 and was later revived in 2013. The theme of the contest has been love songs since 2002. The Awit Awards are music awards in the Philippines given annually by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) to recognize the outstanding achievements in the music industry. The word "Awit" means "song" literally in Filipino. The first awards were given in 1969 at a ceremony in Makati. After three awards ceremonies were held, the Awit Awards were discontinued in 1972.
