Kay Yow Award
The Kay Yow National Coach of the Year Award is an award given annually to the women's college basketball head coach in NCAA Division I competition who displays great character both on and off the court. The award was established in 2010 and is named for legendary women's head coach Kay Yow, who coached at NC State from 1975 to 2009 before succumbing to stage 4 breast cancer. Yow was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 but still continued to coach until the illness forced her to take a medical leave of absence in early 2009. Yow accumulated over 700 wins as a head coach, and also led the United States women's basketball team to an Olympic gold medal in 1988. Green Bay Phoenix Women's Basketball
The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college women's basketball team competing in the Horizon League for the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. The head coach is Kevin Borseth. The Green Bay Phoenix entered the current 2018–19 season on a string of 41 consecutive winning seasons, with only Tennessee having a longer such streak in women's college basketball. In 2017–18, Green Bay captured its 20th straight regular season title and 16th league tournament title. Quinnipiac Bobcats Women's Basketball
The Quinnipiac Bobcats women's basketball team represents Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. History Quinnipiac began play in Division I in 1998. They joined the Northeast Conference in 1999, playing until 2013, when they joined the MAAC. They have made the NCAA Tournament in 2013, 2015, and 2017. They made the Sweet Sixteen in the latter year by garnering their first ever Tournament win along with the furthest they have ever made in the NCAA Tournament. Tricia Fabbri
Tricia Fabbri is an American basketball coach who is currently the women's basketball head coach at Quinnipiac University. Fabbri grew up in Delran Township, New Jersey and graduated from Delran High School in 1987. Playing career Fabbri played college basketball at Fairfield University, where she set a school record in points scored in a game with 35 versus Memphis University, scored 1,622 points and grabbed 1,037 rebounds en route to being named to the All-Rookie Team in 1988–89 and to the MAAC All-Conference First Team the following three seasons. Her team won two MAAC Championships and subsequent automatic bids to the NCAA Women's Basketball Championships in 1990 and 1991. The 2014 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was played in March and April 2014, with the Final Four played April 6–8. The Ohio Valley Conference served as the host institution. Hampton Lady Pirates Basketball
The Hampton Lady Pirates basketball team is the basketball team that represents Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Colonial Athletic Association. History Hampton began play in 1975. They competed in the CIAA in their time in Division II, winning three tournament titles and four regular season titles, with three runner up finishes in the tournament final. Albany Great Danes Women's Basketball
The Albany Great Danes women's basketball team is the basketball team that represents the University at Albany, State University of New York in Albany, New York. The school's team currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games at SEFCU Arena. History UAlbany Women's Basketball had little success on the court since it started play in 1964–65. Its greatest success took place in 1985–86 when it went 26–4 and made it the 3rd Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The ASUN Conference, formerly the Atlantic Sun Conference, is a collegiate athletic conference operating mostly in the Southeastern United States.
